I see no way out of a vet visit at this point. Gave R this AM.

Gonna balance my checking account and see where I'm at. See exactly what I have to work with.

I don't need this stress, haven't had a smoke in 22+hrs.

A vet visit and nicotine withdrawal symptoms! You must be climbing the walls Debbie.

Really wish I had an answer for you but I just don't. Based on his curve yesterday, today's amps shouldn't be possible.

Like I said, time for a vet visit. Something is wrong and we're gonna have to find out what it is. Until Wed, I just have to do whatever it takes to keep him down.

Nic withdrawals aren't bad at all. The 'personal vaporizer' (PV) I'm using, with the nicotine liquid, keeps 90% of that under control. Just every now and then, I think "I want a cig". So I just puff on my little PV machine and I'm good. This is MUCH better than the little cigarette lookalike things that I started with. They suck, big time! Had me coughing my head off. Tore my throat up.

With the eGo (the brand) set up I have, I am totally amazed that I'm not climbing the walls. Not even close! :o At this point, it's just finding 'juice' that I really like. That was an issue for a few days, but I'm getting that under control since I'm DIY my juices now. I'm happy about this and hope I can pull it off. Noon made 26 hrs without a smoke and I'm not buggin' at all. Really! It' a trip that I'm not. Last time I tried to quit, by this point, I was ready to rip someones head off!

Son has quit by using the BLU, that you've seen advertised. That would be too expensive for me, being a heavy smoker. I'd go thru 2-3 of those a days! He hasn't had a cig in about 4 weeks now and says he is having no trouble with it at all and rarely even uses the Blue anymore, maybe once or twice a day, if that. :thumbup

Until yesterday, I was still smoking, but over the last 3 weeks I had dropped from 2+ packs a day, to less that half a pack, about 6-7 a day. The more I 'vaped', the worse the cigs taste, because my 'juice' taste great! :-D So I had 3 cigs left when I got up to shoot Lucian yesterday morning and after they were gone, I didn't go get more. :thumbup I am just dumbstruck as to how much easier this is, doing it in this way. :-D

Ya'll send me a bunch of good 'no smoking' vibes! :-D

That is great Debbie!!! I am so glad you are doing so well with the smoking habit. It is one of the most difficult things to do - I know. I hope you can figure out what is happening there with Lucian. We are thinking about him.

The R this morning is helping him today. If he skyrockets tonight, I'll give it again. Trying to keep him stable until we get to the Vet Wednesday.

I would recommend 'vaping' to anyone that wants to quit smoking. I've tried everything from going 'Cold Turkey', to Zyban, gum, patches, lozenges and Chantix and this is the only thing that has made me feel like I can do it. Without the stress, anxiety, depression and crazy mood swings. Like I said, I am dumbstruck how easy this is making it for me.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patches, gum etc) only has less than 10% success rate. 'Vaping' is pushing 60-70%, because it takes more than just NRT to quit smoking. Vaping includes the use of your hands, the oral habit, the appearance of smoke, although it is only water vapor, etc. So you are still pretty much going thru the motions, but are only getting the nicotine and some type of great flavor and none of the 4000+ chemicals that are in and added to cigarettes. It's not the nicotine that causes cancer and health issues, it's everything else in tobacco.

I know I'm on a soapbox, can't help it. I can't believe I'm not miserable! Anyone that has ever tried to quit can tell you, they bounce between suicidal and homicidal. I was no exception.

So instead of that, I have Nic Juice that tastes like Kahlua, Chocolate and Coffee. I also have Chocolate Raspberry and NY Cheesecake. That's why it's so easy to toss the smokes, they don't taste anywhere near as good! Fresh juice has to steep, so in about a week, I'll have S'Mores, Eclairs and Irish Creme. :-D Yup, I like those sweet 'juices'. :thumbup

I'm planning on quitting (again for the millionth time) at the start of next year once I'm no longer strapped for cash from Christmastime and can afford to buy the quitting supplies. I am so going to pick your brain on this one! I've tried pretty much everything and some of it doesn't work at all, some of it works only a little bit, and some of it works for a while before I start smoking again (like the cigarette look-alike thingies).

Yep, this is where I fail at every time. It's not necessarily the nicotine that keeps me smoking, but the hand-to-mouth oral fixation and the soothing motions of breathing in and out smoke.

When you're ready, go to ECF, e-cigarette-forum.com. You think FDMB has a lot of info? Multiply that by a thousand. I haven't gotten thru a 10th of that site yet. Let me know and I'll give you the info on the vendors I've used, etc. Online ordering is always cheaper. The 'Brick and Mortar' stores will cost you too much, but they are great if they have a 'juice bar', so you can try flavors for free before buying. The closest one to me is 80 miles round trip, not worth the gas IMO. :o

Let me know when and I'll help you get going. If I can do this after smoking for 42 years, I think anyone could. I've tried it all too.

I did it by patch - all three times. I think the third time stuck only because my BF caught me. But then I was addicted to the patch. I wore them way past when I should have. I am glad there are more aids now. I am glad Lucian came down a little from that 552.

@Robin, I hope to continue to reduce my nic level as I go, until eventually having none. But if that doesn't happen, that's ok too. I found out that nicotine absorption from cigarettes is different than from vapor. Vaping a level equal to what I've been smoking is way too much. I smoked 'lights', 12-15 mg, but even vaping 8mg was too much, made me cough and made my throat irritated. I'm using 4 mg liquid. Nicotine has really gotten a bad rap when it's on the same approximate level as caffeine. I didn't know that nic was in most plants and eggplant is high in nicotine. There's some trivia for you. :-D

Debbie,

What is the difference between vaping and e ciggs? I have been trying the Westside vapor e ciggs to quit to no avail, I am still smoking. I need to quit, I am now on inhalers and a nebulizer and wake up at night wheezing.
If I don`t quit it is going to be the end of me. If you ever have any time please PM me and explain what it is your are using, I would be very interested, thanks.

Terri

Now you've done it, you have all the smokers attention. I've tried quitting so many times I've lost count. I'm allergic to the patch, I don't chew gum because it sticks like crazy to my dentures and the pills give me horrible vivid dreams so I'm sleep deprived.. So I've been playing with the idea of ecigs especially since we want to remodel and repaint the house and I don't want the ash and smoke in the freshened up rooms.

So what did you start with and where did you get it ? Think I've figured out what I want from Santa Claws.

Or I guess post it here since we all want to know. Maybe you can help us all this Christmas to quit smoking. :-D :-D
