Got a reading this morning after a disastrous attempt last night! A little higher than it's been so far, but I did give her a bit more carbs than usual yesterday chasing her around the apartment in a vain attempt to test her. :arghh: Will look into some low-carb treats. Hoping I will be able to give her shot this morning without any troubles... :nailbiting: It's been a really stressful start!

Just a couple thoughts. Our cats feel our discomfort, so put on your calm self, and take deep breaths - it will be ok!
Yesterday's nadir was nice; hopefully you will find a lower BG around +3 and on, SO if it is higher, than AMPS, it was likely a fur shot. Do not ever re shoot.

You will gain confidence - we all have to practice before being smooth with any of it. Ducky will forgive you, and eventually thank you!

Thank you :cat: Working in the office today so not able to test too much today, nervous but hoping she will be okay and relaxing when I get back :nailbiting: Will try to keep calm!!
 
Such an anxious process but we've come a lot farther than I thought! Trying to make sure today is a calming and relaxing day for us because last evening, not so much :D

I got a +9.5 of 173, so I think I will go ahead with her 2nd shot tonight. I know it's early to check but I'm trying to work around her comfort level and when she's relaxed at first - does that sound okay or is it possible it will get lower later in the day (+12)?

It is possible it could get lower toward the end of the cycle but not too likely. Likewise it can be green at +9 and much, much, higher at shot time. It’s hard when they don’t cooperate though. Just make sure if she seems really hungry to keep feeding her.

Thanks, I ended up giving her the shot and will keep an eye on her. Have my Karo syrup ready for emergencies and hopefully never have to use it :arghh: I hope as she gets more used to testing I can fine tune the times. She's been pleasantly surprising me for the most part so hopefully we will both continue to improve at this!!
