Yesterday was a semi-uneventful day for Mannie. He had a very flat yellow AM cycle, wound up the day with a blue one. And we won't even mention the AMPS this morning. It has been forever and a day that I have had to post a morning number like that. It's disheartening. Mannie and I have been on this journey together for over 2.5 years, and in all that time I've learned that it's just one number, the bounce will clear soon enough, the next cycle will be better, we stay positive, we move forward, we are a team. Even with this baseline - a red amps for him just took all the wind out of my sails this morning. :sad: :sad: so... we look forward eagerly to his +2, we gave him tons of cuddles and pets and scritches, and repeat the mantra: "it's just one number in a sea of thousands...."

He's in a good mood this morning - very affectionate, lots of purrs. :-D One anxious kitty this AM - wanted his breffis above everything else. Not a good test this AM :? - took me four tries - unheard of lately - before I got a reading: a combo of Mannie being antsy, and me being not fully wake. :lol: :lol: He was so excited yesterday afternoon - I got the christmas tree up, lights on, tree skirt in place - it took him less than a minute to claim it, and he has been there ever since. It is our family joke - we cannot declare the holiday official until he takes up residence under the tree. It was great to see tradition continued. :cool: :cool: So there he is this morning too - napping under the tree, with one eye partially open, making sure his nanners are undisturbed. I bet by today he has moved them under the tree.

Hey Kitties! What's up today? I want to thanks Attie for letting us come to his place last night for night snowboarding - he has lights and everything - it was da-bomb! and Rusty - the afternoon at your place was so much fun. We had tuna toddy's, Gracie brought appetizers and warm milk, we made snow angels and snow kitties.. What a great time! I can't wait for today - whatever we end up doing. See you guys! ~~ Mannie

Ok...THAT'S it...[stamping foot!] If Mannie has a red number, and Shadow had both reds and dare I say BLACKS yesterday...I am thinking that this is because of the New Moon the day before yesterday. Or SOMETHING!

SOMETHING is NOT right around here. Lots of kitties in the pinks today...I remember that Mocha had a red yesterday too...something is going on and I don't like it one bit!! grr_red

There are far too many "blips" on SSs lately. It has to be something that the kitties are aware of and we just can't see. I mean, there is NO reason for this Mannie....'splain it to us...please!!!

I know the feeling Michelle...it is just sooo discouraging But, you are not alone! Sending hugs to you :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Pat - oh I know.... what is up with our furry friends????? Let's blame it on the new moon - I like that answer. Sheshhhh - Shadow was red too, and black? I missed that..... bad me! OK Kitties - this is it - 'plain please... Mannie just looks at me with that "so? you want what? well maybe later today..." look. And then there was Gracie last night that thought a falling 41 was a great ps number. hmmmmmmmmm - just what are they up too? maybe it's just an attention getter so that we focus on them, and not the pending holiday stuff. :lol: :lol: AIYEE!!!! - cats!

my goodness...until now, i hadn't realized there is really a resemblance between binks and mannie...

he's gonna be thrilled silly when i tell him he looks like his hero-buddy!

glad to see he's coming down...

we are socked in with fog this am...hope the sun is shining on you!

eta: realize it doesnt show in binks avatar pic...but the eyes, the facial markings...cool!

I'm glad to see that Mannie is coming down already, but slow it down, please, Mannie. Its amazing when we are happy to see pink. ohmygod_smile I love the pic under the tree! We don't do christmas trees anymore, but when we did there was always a kittie under it. :-D Have a great day, Michelle!

Whew on the pink! I know it is weird to say that. Slow sown a little Mannie, I know your mom said to get off THAT floor, but you don't need to do it so fast you skip them like Gracie.

Mannie. can we come and help decorate the tree? We promise not to climb it. Unless your mom can't reach to get the topper on, we can get up there easy! I can bring the new shrimp treats! -- Tess

Yep, it's gotta be the moon! At least Mannie is down to the pink floor, and heading down further, I'm sure. Great picture of him under the tree. Those kitties sure do love their xmas trees (Stu used to camp under the tree, too; it'll be interesting to see what Rusty does).
Have a nice, low-key testing day today, Michelle! I'm off for a walk in the beautiful new snow. Tomorrow we may go snowshoeing.

Hey Mannie, Yes, I would like to come with you to Toronto today. I love Ronnie. She helped me move and I sat in her lap in Linda Bear Man's car for the whole trip from Toronto to Kingston. I'd like to help her Luna get that vetty smell out of his fur. See you later.

Morning Michelle....SO glad to see Mannie coming down. I know how hard it is to say it's just one number.....just a blip...but it IS and I've learned that from you!! So I'm sending you all my positive thoughts today. Mannie is so good about coming down out of these and he's already strutting his stuff. LOVE the picture...he is so handsome!! I hope you see some lovely numbers today, my friend.

Hi Iorwen - thanks! yes they do - it's always been Mannie's holiday. He has not left that tree this morning. too funny - he always comes for his tests - not today. I've had to go and get him from beneath his forest.. When we are done he heads right back there. I love it.

Hey celi! yep - always suspected that those two look alike... all in the facial markings, the eyes... Mannie's avatar really isn't his best - makes him look different than he really does. i need to change it. I told him that Binks bean says that they look alike - his response" MEOW!" translation: cool! We are so wet and drizzly here this AM - another rather large system coming in - more, well like tons, of pending mtn snow,... which no doubt will be in your neck of the woods soon. oh fun....

Ele - :lol: and yes on the happy to see pink. omg. what a downer that red was. well - as always he did clear it. I debated on the tree this year, but well - it's really Mannie's fav... and well - all come to my house to celebrate on that day - so --- up went the tree.

yes i totally understand your shock seeing that red...2 yrs ago when Rocket first started he had blacks and sometimes the glucometer could not register a # as it was sky high....i cried not knowing how to help him...mind you i didn't know much (and still don't) about FD and insulin and all that....so i totally hear what you are saying...but like you said...it's just one number...and he is looking better at +4

139 @ PMPS. oh boy - we are sure on a downswing here. I fed Mannie's PS main meal with a 5% LC to see if that makes any dent in what is obviously a continuing descend from AMPS this morning. WOW - maybe I will be busy tonight.

I certainly missed a lot of excitement today, it's going to take all evening to catch up! Way to go Mannie, you didn't want your bean to be sad any more, so you thought this would cheer her up! :lol:

Mannie, your tree is so pretty! it was cool how everyone sat on a different branch so it didn't tip when you climbed up to put the topper on. Bummer on the tinsel. We have lots and lots of tiny glass icicles. They are really pretty too! KTSS is already for the border crossing! Maybe after we take care of Luna we could all sit in a big circle and groom and massage each other, That way we all get a treatment! -- Tess

Hi Ann! Yep - he's doing OK, but still dropping a little - back with a little higher carb. he should be at nadir around +6, though when he goes low it sometimes can be as late as +7. @-) a little longer to go.... waiting for a rise... soon Mannie, OK?
