Hi Suzanne! On the advice of several members here I've been doing something similar food-wise with Ruby who seems to dive 9 out of 10 times after her shot. I've taken to getting a +1, because if she is rising after her PS then I know I can have an easy morning/night and can plan my life accordingly, like go back to sleep or go to sleep earlier! Otherwise, it's usually the same number or lower. I'm also feeding her about 4 mini meals before +4 or +5, spacing them out so that in case I need to intervene with MC or HC she's still hungry. I've also been feeding her higher carb LC in the past few days (7.8% versus below 5%) in the hopes of slowing her down.

So he has really gone up at +7 which is higher than the other BGs taken at this time. I was concerned that feeding more 2 hours later would cause a jump in the BG as the insulin starts to wane; especially since his bookends tend to be high. I'll do a +9 and then not test again until the fasting. I know this is only one cycle with 2 meals, but at this point I'm not very encouraged. And I know smaller meals work for most cats, I'm just wondering if it hasn't worked for others.
