Yesterday's thread

Not loving that preshot. Also not loving that for the third or fourth time she has peed in this one spot in the living room. I've cleaned the area each time with Nature's miracle, and this time I doused it a second time, but I think I might have to get a carpet cleaner to really do a good job. And today is the first time that it was a strong enough smell that I can still smell it even after throwing everything in the wash. Although it might just be stuck in my nose hairs at the moment.

At least Kit is coming down already; hope she steadies. I'm sorry about your carpet. I have not found anything that fully works once they repeatedly abuse a spot. I'm considering trying the phoof that they advertise on walmart online. It's pricey, but i'm ok with that if it works. I'll keep you posted. Good luck with your carpet...I'm waiting to rip mine out :banghead:

Good meowning Alicia and Kit.
I'm sorry you're dealing with a little bit of set back.
Purrrrhaps she's got UTI and that's why she's peeing outside the litter box? Also that would cause her numbers to go up a bit. Just a pawssibility but maybe it's worth to explore further?

Either way I wish you both a good day.

Hi Alicia, well, the good news Kit’s numbers look better, but the bad news is the peeing on the carpet. That’s never a good thing.

Sorry to hear she’s doing that. Maybe put out a post on the main forum, and see if anybody has good suggestions about products that they’ve tried.
I’ve never really found anything that’s worked great.
In a previous life, I had a major peeing cat and ripped out more carpeting And underlayment flooring that I care to recall.
I hope you don’t have to go through any of that.
Sending calming vibes your way. I know you need them :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Alicia,
Bummer that Kit cat is targeting the floor repeatedly. Like @Karolina KJ says, something bothering her down there?
I think @Staci & Ivy 's suggestion of posting on the main forum is a good idea. It's such a common problem that I'm sure you get all kinds of suggestions.
Such a pretty cute thing can produce a foul smelling thing....
I know someone who used those training pad things down on the area of the offense, at least to protect the area.
I hope you find a good solution. Sending you :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oof. I'm hoping that I can get the smell out - let me know how the phoof from walmart works. Unfortunately I live in an apartment, so I'm at their whim. Although I have heard that they want to rip out all the carpets and replace them with laminate in all the apartments. Luckily, it's pretty much in one spot, so I might see if puppy pads help? At least then even if it soaks through the paper and the towel, it doesn't hit the carpet?

Yeah, I emailed her vet today to see if we want to add a urine sample to her upcoming visit. Unless the vet is cool with me doing the patented "catch the pee with a clean and only ever used for this purpose ladle". She laughed pretty hard the last time I acquired a sample that way.

Yeah, she seemed weirdly high at +10, so I was a little surprised at her PMPS tonight. I'm choosing to believe it's because I came home an hour early and instead of showering, just laid on the master bed with her giving her pets. She's the first cat that I've had that's been all indoors, and she never once peed on the floor until the last year. But her arthritis is getting worse, and she also gets mad at me, so could be either of those. Or she maybe has a UTI. The extra smelly pee last night definitely reminded me that the bf has a more sensitive nose than I do - he lit a candle this morning, and since it was nice outside today (51 degrees! In DECEMBER!) he left the patio door open and cracked a window in the bedroom to air out the place.

I was talking with coworkers who have dogs and they also suggested the training pads. I'm gonna try to pick up some tomorrow. Also - the pretty cute producing such a foul smelling thing? Man, some of her poops. Oof. That has caused windows to be opened with some of the food she used to be on. :joyful::joyful:

Anything is possible. It’s so hard to figure out why and what causes them to do things like this, that they normally don’t do.
It seems it’s a rule this or that out …
Very frustrating! I’m sorry Miss Kit peed on the carpet. Hoping you can get some solution!!

Try to have a good night :bighug::bighug::bighug:

My only meeting for tomorrow got canceled, and I think I'm having tacos for lunch, so my night got better looking at tomorrow! It's amazing how much those small things helped my brain space! :D:D

Hi Alicia, so sorry about the pee situation, I hope the pee pads work. I curious if the pooph works when Christine Jacks Mom gets it. Looks like it git very good reviews, Amazon and Chewey also sell it .
I'm happy that Kit came down to green tonight .
Have a nice night Alicia :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:
