He is still in pre-diabetic (or diabetic depending on who you talk to) pre shot numbers but within an hour of eating, he is in a normal healthy range. I am not giving him insulin since he regulates so well with food but it is puzzling as to why he runs so high before breakfast. His evening pre-shot test (Yes, I am still testing a few times a day even though he is OTJ due to the unusual pre-shot readings he tends toward and am not comfortable with once a week yet) tends to be lower than the amps test because he eats all day.

Not sure what is up with my little dude, but we will keep the faith that he is done with insulin.
 
I get that, but other cats when they are in remission don't eat around the clock and yet they have green normal numbers all day and night most of the time with the occasional higher number in the low 100's. Why is Simon so high after he does not eat for two- four hours most of the time? His PMPS was 123.
 
That's the part I don't get about Simon. Could it be that his pancreas is stimulated by food and when it isn't present, his pancreas doesn't work as well? The theory is that the pancreas gets stronger and stronger and finally works by itself. Maybe his pancreas is partly damaged and can't heal completely? I just don't know, Joyce. I would just keep doing what you are doing and hope his numbers fall further and further.
