Good Morning, wondering if anyone can shed some opinion on dosing advice for Mowgli today.
I will be doing AMPS but want to get the thoughts flowing.
I will once again be away from the home all day, and certainly cannot count on him to feed himself, lol Even with his food out no solid guarantee he eats..

did he eat before +11? how much time can u stall this morning? you can test again at +11.5 see if he is going up

I cannot say for certain if HE ate or not, I am going to go with No..as the food that was shoved onto the floor is starting to crunchify.. As 6am is his go time.... Also......I forget what else i was going to say..
Oh i can stall till roughly, mmmm well i have to leave the house the latest is 7..

is your regular shot time at 6 am? or 7? we did the shot at +11.5 yesterday to get you back to your old schedule...that was a one time thing....

I know why i am confused..
okay so yesterday morning gave at 7am (delayed) last night gave at 630 and this morning should give at 6..
correct?

Keri, I don't know when 7am your time is....how long from now do you have to leave?

You can move the time back by 30 minutes per day, or 15 minutes per cycle...I wouldn't move the time back this morning by more than 15 minutes, if that.

based on you not being home today...what dose do you feel comfortable giving? i don't know where the experts are....i really don't know what to say...you not being home and that....he did ok yesterday with the 0.75 but you can't yo-yo with lantus....

Good morning guys! Wish I had the advice you are looking for as far as timing and dosing ... I hope someone will be here soon to help you out ... just wanted to say that is a really nice looking run of numbers yesterday and this morning! Have a great day guys!

he is eatting right now, because I wanted to be sure he eats, but i took his number the 133 before he ate

so to clarify that will be 3minutes till we are at the 15minute time change, and from there I have 45minutes till i have to leave the house..
but now i have fed him, i guess will base his amps on the 133

and as usual he didn't eat much

Ok, next time please don't feed if stalling.

I would reduce since you are not home to monitor. He surfed blue with the 0.75u, you may be able to shoot more than that if you are comfortable. What dose do you think you can go to work and not worry?

Keri, there's no harm in reducing so you can go to work and not worry. He did fine with 0.75u, that sounds fine especially because he may not eat well while you're gone. He may bounce anyway, but you can't count on that.

No worries on feeding, just a reminder for next time. :smile:

You did just fine--0.75 wil be good & safe, you'll see by tonite.
Good job & have a good day...Timed feeder would help a lot, just maybe put you more at ease when you arent home..
Cat mate is the one I have-2 compartments, some have 5 --I set it for +3 and +5 when I go out for the day--Thye usually clean it out--Just because it's different! :arrow: Have a great day!

he might just not be as hungry, now that his diabetes is better regulated. His body is metabolizing the food better now.

still being picky, but he ate "some" FF seafood feast..
butthead..stubborn........tomorrow is the wal mart run....grab a selection, considering it doesn't look like the merrick is all its cracked up to be...to mowgli anyway....lol

I think I need to clarify here. This is one of those times when ECID....some cats do not food spike like Rocket. For Putty if his +1 or +2 is either the same, lower his ps then most likely he will drop. Since it looks like things are changing with Mowgli it may be a good idea to get a few more +1's and +2's so you can see if there is a pattern.

I would get a +4 to see if he is still dropping.

an he goes low... well i have to confess i took his BG and i just gave him a little bit of gravy...so we shall see...
IMO too early for him to be dropping this low....
also..
he seems okay, his demeanour and everything...
is confusing...and nooooo he isn't interested in food....

i was just heading off to bed....can you try to give him some chicken dust even....dab our finger with gravy in it and put some chicken dust see if he goes for it...you gotta get creative to try to get him to eat....

Rocket drops early in his cycle so now i sort of expect it...maybe this will be Mowgli's trend...hard to tell

i sure hope there are others here that can chime in....

you bet i have the fat one should it come to it..i have had to syringe feed scully when he has flare ups of his IBD....
as per usual mowgli will just lick the dust/cheese/ etc off the food i want him to eat...i have even buried the treat into the food and bugger decides the food just isn't worth it..
i will be okay...i have gravy, corn syrup, maple syrup, food food food, tuna, dust, all the things should it be needed...
lots of strips, and and evil look to match his stubbornness.... again, i am going off his attitude and demeanour and he seems ok...i will test every fifteen... an hope his numbers go up uppity up..

should he need corn syrup how much to rub on the gums, as i know this quickly raises numbers so i wouldn't want to overdo it

when you test him next if he is going low again then syringe feed him....he needs food in his tummy no matter what....i will stay with you until 11:30....is that a plan? don't panic...but i think this will earn him a reduction for tomorrow....i hope really hope the experts will advise....

if you want to use corn syrup then add a drop mix it with his food and syringe feed him...do it like that until you see he goes up....the in the gums is when they go below 40..not sure...but he is ok alert right? 58 is not a bad # just new to you two

kay i have given him some....at 1108..so test in 15...errr ummm so like...ahhhhhh 25 after? he is alert though..so that is a good sign ya?

i'm staying with you until he goes up....your threshold for panic begins at 2.2 mmol....he is doing ok with that # but you want to bring him up....is that a plan?

He is 56 right now...
i have no idea how to put that on my SS or my header... math and i don't jive!
do i feed him some more?
or wait and see if he starts coming up on his own?

no worries....it would be +5.45 if it was 11:25 and you gave your shot at 6...right?
test again at 11;45 and that will be +5.75
wait to see what the next test says before feeding again

and tested this last time at 1125 sooo ah regardless am gonna test at 1145
cannot wait to be back ON the hour! which should be tomorrow morning....
am working on adjusting my SS so everyone can make sense of it, my apologies on that..
