Morning ~O) ~O) not too bad of an AMPS this morning. I think it's the overnight fuds that cause the higher AMPS, as Mags always comes down to nice Nadir numbers almost every day. Looking forward to Mannie kitteh barista's coffee, always excellent! ~O) ~O) Maggie is feeling good today, good appy, shot and some play time, too. I heard chatter just as I was falling asleep, only to find Mags with the mouse part of the pole toy in her mouth inching her way into the bedroom. :-D I picked her and the pole toy up and brought to bed where there was a lot of purring and scritches.
I have Maggie's b/w results, and the Vet sent me a nice Trending Report with the last five (5) Labs tests side by side. I need to get a copy of the latest with the ranges. Unfortunately, her Creatinine went up some, which is the important one. Phosphorus is a little better, not too much change in the BUN. Her glucose was 171 on their AlphaTrak, so not bad considering Vetty stress, urinalysis good.
Wishing all a nice day. Healing vines to all kitties needing them.

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211

Good to hear Maggie is feeling well and playing with her mouse pole toy.

Sorry to hear about the creatinine, is there something you can do about that? Other than do what you're doing?

Have a great day ladies.

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211

Awww...sweet Maggie!!!

Bummer about the creatinine. Did the vetty offer any suggestions? Did it go up a lot? I'm not all that familiar with kidney issues.

Have a great day, Anne!!!

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211

Hi Tracy and Amy, yes any time I see Mags playing is a good sign. My Vet E-mailed and said he would be consulting with the IM Vet Mags saw for the u/s, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. I remember Tuesdays are the IM's day off, and Wednesdays are my Vet's day off, so probably tomorrow. I'll be doing daily fluids rather than every other day which should help. Thank goodness Mags doesn't fight me on it; she rather seems to enjoy and purrs the whole way thru it.

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211

Hi you two! ~O) ~O)
Aren't we the luckiest ducks to have a kitteh barista every morning! Just hearing about what he's got going makes my ol coffee taste soooo much better.

Maggie dragging her toy to bed is sooo cute. I can hear her asking - Mommy, play? or snuggle?

I don't know even what b/w results are but i hope Maggie is just perfect..

many hugs to you from us
mary and oliver

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211

Good morning Ann. Maggie almost made it to the blue zone this morning, maybe by +2 or +3 she'll be there. Your post reminded me that I forgot to ask our vet for a copy of PurrFace's b/w results for our records.

Unfortunately, her Creatinine went up some, which is the important one.

I'm not sure exactly what high Creatinine can result in but if it has your attention I'm sure it's not good. I hope Maggie gets everything back in line.

Have a great day.

I had the same problem as Carla with my strips this morning. I'm trying a new area on Maggie's ear, so as to avoid the little bump area where I always poke. Mags moved, and the strip read an error message, E-13, I think. So I tried my back-up Relion Confirm, and it read 90. The second time the Arkay read 146 which is my prime meter, so I took that reading.

Thanks Mary for your visit. Next time I will have my camera close by for a pic of Mags and her mouse pole toy, if it isn't the middle of the night.

John, thanks for your visit. Yes, both Vet and I were hoping her Creatinine would improve. It means her renal/kidney disease is progressing. But if you look at Maggie and her appearance and behavior, she's doing really well, fingers and paws crossed. Her appy and weight are good, too. Her chronic constipation is improving, too, and Detective Poo would agree.

Ann, I would love to see Maggie with her pole toy....it's as famous as she is  I love to hear about playing kitties. It means she feels good. :-D
It's so good to hear her poo reports are getting better too. :-D
Yay on Miss Mags being sweet about the fluids :-D I can't imagine Checks allowing it. He doesn't care to be handled.

Mags is keeping up her surf.

Thanks Barb & Checkers. I will try and get a pic when the moment is right. I just recharged the battery.

Michelle & Scrabble, you asked if the Dasuquin can be bought online. Barb (Checkers) yesterday said it is sold on Amazon. The Vet only charges a couple more dollars than Amazon. Check with your Vet and see if he recommends it and then compare prices. I know costs vary depending on the area. Everything in CA is expensive. Mags loves the Natural Chicken & Tuna flavored. I'll let you know if it helps.

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211; +4 146; +6 70; +9 121

Just checked it out, would love to see if you see any improvement because I will definetly try it. You just sprinkle a capsule on her food once a day? Keep me posted, thanks!

Re: 12/5 Maggie AMPS 211; +4 146; +6 70; +9 121

Hi Ann,

It sounds like Maggie is doing well in spite of the creatinine test. She must have been cute carrying her pole toy.

Have you tried Cosequin for Maggie? That's what I use for Racci butt I heard the Dasuquin might be better. I was wondering if you tried both??

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci

PMPS 155

Not too bad of a day for Mags and no bouncey.

Hi Michelle & Scrabble, yes once capsule a day for 10 lbs. and under and 2 capsules for kitty over 10 lbs. I break it open and sprinkle a little on her food throughout the day. If I forget to add it, I get "the stare"

Hi Melanie, I remember I used the Cosequin on my GA kitty for his arthritiis, and it helped. The Vet recommended the Dasuquin for Mags. Yes, Mags is feeling good in spite of the numbers. I just gave her fluids earlier, and now she is basking in the sun.

I'm glad Maggie is feeling good. That's so cute on the mouse pole toy last night. I'm sorry the creatinine was up. That's good she will let you do the fluids. I hope that helps her feel better.

Hi Ann & Maggie,
I hope that when you get the full report back the vets will have encouraging words. Maggie looks really good, and she is playing and eating and contributing to her litterbox. We are all proud of her.

Have a fine evening.

Hugs from us,

Ella & Rusty

Mags is headed back to the Lagoon.

Carla, thanks on the fluids, and I'm lukcy she's so well behaved and seems to purr away the whole time.

Detective Poo, thanks for checking in on us. No prezzies so far, but I expect somthing will be happening tonight. She's had her fair share of Miralax mixed with bf and water.

Ella and Rusty, thanks for the kind words on Maggie. She has been doing so well in all areas, even the poo. I should be getting a call from the Vet tomorrow. It so happens today is his day off, and Tuesdays are the IM Vet's day off, so they missed each other.

Hey Mags, I loves the pole toy too, 'cept mamabean has it locked in the trunk of the Terror Box Transport Vehicle. I think she forgot it in there  Glad you're feeling good, sis, I comes over to purrs next to you and make your hurts all goes away in the suns. Your bro, Leo

Hi Ann - I am sorry I missed everything here today. It looks like a great day for Maggie - even some blues. :-D :-D and now green!

BW was OK then - sounds stable, more or less?

Hope your day was a good one.

Can I come and play with your mouse pole too Mags? I meet you on the patio - love Vyktor xxx

Ann please PM me Maggie's mouse pole shot when you get it, I'd hate to miss it! Hope the vet just has good and helpful things to say tomorrow.

I hope the consult goes well for Maggie, I'm not sure what there is to do about high creatinine. Paws crossed that whatever the course it is one Mags will take to like the Dasuquin.
