Harley is starting out the day pretty well. He is on 7 units lantus. Eating about 1/2 of what he had been eating. Since Harley pills so easily, he is on 1.5 tab Prednisolone 5 mg. This is for 2 weeks and then he goes down to 1/2 tab twice a day. The vet would like him to go back on the budsonide.

He is hiding since being home but does come out for shot and food. I have built a nice little bed for him in the closet where he likes to be for now. When he does come out, any little noise makes him run. He came out for a bit but I dropped some silverware in the kitchen and he ran back to the closet like he was shot. He should get over this - right?

Have a good Sunday

Re: 12/5 Harley AMPS 315

morning! Harley come out and say hi and come down a touch more ok!

i just read yesterday that if you reward them with the pokes they eventually get used to the whole thing....Rocket is getting better with it...

when he was first dx with CRF and i had to do fluids at home he would hide in the closet....the old vet told me Rocket was trying to tell me to let him go...meaning PTS...so i changed vets....they do hide when so much is going on and being done to them...or when they don't feel 100%....or when they just want to tune us out!

hope he comes out from hiding on you....good luck

Re: 12/5 Harley AMPS 315

binks always takes a cpl days to relax after anything upsets his world...and he hasnt had a traumatic experience like the harley guy had...so i'm betting you'll see your boy settle in.

I think he'll quit hiding eventually, just give him time. That experience in the hospital probably scared him, and he doesn't want to go there again. I would just give him lots of love and lots patience. cat_pet_icon

Harley ended the day pretty well. Uneventful day, although I keep trying to find him to make sure all is ok. Have a good evening everyone. Type on his PMPS - it is 296
