i LOVE THESE BINKS. Oops sorry got excited. I watched the LOTR over Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait for the hobbit.

i haven't watched any of the LOTR movies, but i started reading the series in high school and it's The Best! i used to reread them every year.

Thanks Julie. Sam purrs. I must have read the series at least 10 times. I was sort of disappointed with the movies since I thought they took to much license with the books. Didn't follow them enough. Like Harry Potter. Jackson also ended the movie wrong! He forgot about the Scouring of the Shire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

same feeling on my part with the Chronicles of Narnia and the Dune trilogy :sad:

oh they wrecked Dune entirely with the movie! you can't show all that mental control-type of stuff in a movie without it coming out just plain dumb. what was incredibly fabulous in the books was just stupid in the movies. i pretty much refuse to watch any sci fiction movies if i've been in love with the books first.

funny that we like all the same (best) books! :lol:
