Bama is still meandering between blue and yellow from mid to upper 100s to low 200s. Plan to increase 0.5u to 6u tonight to see if we can get a lower range of normal that includes trips into green. It has been 5 days since he has seen pink or red. Even the dip into green on 11/30 apparently didn't set off any bodily alarms.

Bama vomited yesterday despite Famotidine and Ondansetron?

I wonder if he would have seen some green on 12/2 without the honey/ karo. Makes me think you might want to give him today and see how he does and increase tomorrow instead.

Yeah, he did. I did not give the full dose of Ondansetron the day before and he was 2 or 3 hours before he was due another dose. He was prescribed "5 clicks" from the Ondansetron transdermal dispenser [supposed to equal 4 mg] but it seemed like a lot of product came out and I didn't want it to go to waste. There was a tiny plug of hair in the vomit. I think if a hairball is plugging the system, neither of the two tummy meds can prevent the vomiting. That's just my guess. I don't really know. I agree he probably would have seen green on the 2nd cycle of 12/2 without the Karo as he did get down to 117 @ PM+6 with Karo @ PM+2 & 3.

Today's start looks a lot like yesterday so he may be resting up for more blues tonight. Maybe even green. ;) So, I'll wait until tomorrow to increase.

Bama has started to drop a bit late in the cycle @ +9 [149]. Did not get up for his test. Applied 4 clicks Ondansetron transdermal to his right ear. Will offer food in a few minutes.

+2.5, 134 -- Nice easy trend downward. Offered food but he did not eat. Stayed in his bed for +1 & +2.5 tests. Ate pretty well at PMPS after receiving Ondansetron transdermal @ AM+9; Gave 2.5 Famotidine @ +1; Will check again @ +4 or 4.5.

He's looking good for an increase tomorrow unless you see green tonight or a low blue AMPS tomorrow.
His numbers have been really good the last few days - no green - but most under 200! :-)

Brown vomit @ +8; tested & he's 160. He was ready to eat afterwards. Given that he's had both Ondansetron & Famotidine within the past 12 hours, I don't understand why. Wonder if I had fed @ PM+7 this would have been avoided. He did not seem hungry at the time. Will give the full dose of Ondansetron to his ear at the next dosing. Will call vet on Monday for sub-q supplies. His appointment for bloodwork is in 3 weeks. May be able to bump the appointment to sooner.

You might need to give Ondansetron as often as every 8 hours. He gets Famotidine every other day?

Checking kidney values and starting subq if creatinine over 3.5 is a good idea . I'm convinced that it was subqs that helped bandit the most.

And he looks good for an increase tomorrow.

Famotidine every other day including last night. Was reading [I think in Tanya's CRD site] that Ondansetron transdermal does not maintain blood levels necessary to be effective. Something to that effect, anyway.

Bandit was throwing up despite Ondansetron. It was the Famotidine that fixed it in her case.

Have you tried Cerenia?

Only Cerenia by injection when given at the vet. Maybe I should dose Famotidine closer to the usual vomit hours--+7 to +10. He got it last night @ PM+1. I want to move the times so that there is some separation between the Famotidine and the Ondansetron to get better coverage. Interesting that when they prescribed oral Ondansetron, it was dosed @ a 4mg. pill twice per day while the Ondansetron transdermal is 4mg. every 24 hours.
