First off, thanks SO MUCH to everyone's advice and support yesterday. I really appreciated it and it helped me get through a difficult day. :smile:

Dusty voluntarily ate a few bites of food last night and then again in the middle of the night (at her +5). Again this morning, she willingly ate. Not as much as she normally does, but that's fine for now. So: hurrah! Perhaps that nausea was temporary and we're over the worst of it! :RAHCAT

She slid into a pretty nice number, but because I can be home today to test her, I gave her basically her full dose (a scant 1.5...but, truth be told, it's so little liquid anyways that I'm not sure that my scant 1.5 is really different from my regular 1.5). I'm hoping she'll go eat more soon, though. Regardless, I plan to test her at +2, just to see how the numbers are trending.

And the vet could only see one of the kitties (they're at a half-day today), so I opted to take Dusty's feline-in-crime, Adele, instead. Because Dusty has started eating, I think I can probably deal better with her at home. Adele really needs some medication and the sooner I get it the better. Meanwhile, I'll be wishing for a healthy house of cats for 2013.

A drop to 116 at the +2. Dusty hasn't really eaten since the few bites this morning, which means she's had relatively little to eat today. Should I perhaps give her a T or two or HC? I'll try to get her to eat some more of her regular food before that, but I'm not terribly hopeful. It doesn't help matters that she's sulking because I've made the bedroom off limits for the day -- she's taken to hanging out under the bed and not being willing to come out when I want her to, and since today may be a day of many tests, I want to have immediate access to her without having to move the bed around.

sorry, I didn't see this post until now. What did you decide to do? Do you have a +3 yet?

I tried giving her some normal food and she shunned it. Tried a bit of HC and she shunned that. So I ended up making a slurry with mostly low carb and about 1.5 t of HC (and some water, of course) and fed about half of it to her with a syringe. If she doesn't feel like eating in an hour, I'll probably give her the other half of the slurry. She's also about to get a pill pocket with her allergy meds in it...hopefully she won't reject *that*, too.

Just grabbed the +3 -- a 93. So still dropping, but not as quickly. I'd loooove it if she just settled into the 60's/70's for the day.

it's frustrating when they won't eat, but it sounds like you did the right thing. See you at +4.

Libby, Dusty may well have listened to you! So far, so good! Now if she'll stick around here for the next few hours, things will be awesome. :-D

Hurrah! Looks like Dusty is hanging out in the 90's today. Perfectly fine with me, and a lovely way to end a trying month.

She also willingly ate more food! I had opened a can and heated some of it up in a bowl. She sniffed it and walked away. I then made some of the can into a kitty food slurry, got the syringe ready, and then sat down and put the bowl in front of her, warning her it was her last chance before some force feeding. So she stuck her head into the bowl and gobbled up a fair portion. Guess I should use threats more often! :-D :lol:

I think I'm skipping the +7 and will grab a +8 before heading out for some evening festivities.

You handled that very well this morning, Michelle. I'm glad she ate some for you and I hope she'll have a nice, stable night.

Thanks, Marje! Dusty definitely cooperated to make an easy day of it! Let's hope she's equally good tonight, since her numbers are basically the same. :smile:

Can't say I'm unhappy about that +2. I'm exhausted and happy that I can sleep until her +6 without much fear of going too low. The question is whether to stay up until midnight to meet the new year? Or go to bed and greet it slightly more awake and happy, tomorrow morning? Hmmm....
