Trying to measure her food out like on the package so that she is hungry when it's time to shoot her 12hrs later. Just wondering, If her numbers don't get higher for her PMPS than 200 should I dose her the same or back off a little? I'm just nervous about dosing her in the blues just cause we have no vet on hand and we live 3 hours from the nearest.....she just ate again, but I had to encourage her to do so, she's been sleeping ALL morning. I think I would deem her as a lazy eater. She was probably hungry, just to board or lazy to get up and eat.....retard cat lol.

So, excited that she's blue :RAHCAT

I don't have dose advice, but we'll bump this up for visibility. You might want to edit your original post to say "dose advice?" at the end and change the icon from the little heart to the question mark. Hopefully someone can help soon. Grats on the blues - lookin good Emmy! Happy New Year!

We typically shoot numbers that are above 150. As you get more experience shooting lower numbers, you will be able to shoot progressively lower and lower numbers. (I shot a 52 this morning.) As long as you have strips, a glucometer, and high carb food in the house, you can shoot. You also need to know that we will follow you and Emmy very closely if you shoot low. It's an unwritten "rule" that if someone tells you to shoot, they will stick with you to walk you through low numbers -- or they will make sure there's an experienced person to lend a hand. For example, Marje and I will often tag team since she's on Pacific time and I'm in Central. With experience, you'll get comfortable shooting low.

There's also a saying here, "Shoot low to stay low." Gabby's cycle this morning is a good example.

Thank you, it feels reassuring that we are being watched, as weird as that sounds.

You are doing great, it is always scary at first to shoot low but once you start getting a lot more data it will become easier! This board is amazing and there is usually someone always around to help! Good luck and welcome!!!

Yes we do watch but also remember that you are in control as long as you test and have the foods to steer her numbers if need be. Once we walk you through it a couple times, you'll get to know how Emmy reacts to food and you'll get more comfy .
