We had a very interesting night...Lightning earned a dose decrease and I wasn't expecting that at all!!

Recap:
PMPS 123 gave 2.0U
+4.75 40
+5 48
+6 65
+8.75 68
AMPS 85 gave 1.75U
+2 107

Lightning also slept at the foot of the bed ALL night, which he NEVER does! I don't know it if was because it was cold or he was just in a weird mood or what, but he even slept through his +8 feeding. Thunder jumped on the bed at 4am and I noticed my alarm on my phone was going on (only the screen flashing, no sound for some reason, which explains why it didn't wake me up at +7 like I planned) and then I found Lightning curled up in his little ball. It's like Thunder waited to see if Lightning was going to get up and eat the food, and after 30 minutes he decided it was his job to go eat it. Or at least that's what I like to think cause it makes me laugh! So I got Lightning up at +8.75, tested him and then gave him some food. Then he went right back to the bed and slept til I woke him up for his AMPS.

Today is going good so far...hope the 5% I gave him for AM and +1 feeding don't make his numbers go up, would like to see AM cycle with green in it!!!

Re: 12/30 Lightning AMPS 85, +2 107 dose decrease!

Congratulation on the dosecrease!!

Hum Thunder waited 30 minutes to eat the food... Nice kitty

I like the names Thunder and Lightning... ;-)

haha, thanks, I love the names myself :)

So, it was vet day for Thunder and since both kitties have the same vet, I used Thunder's time to give the vet an update on Lightning. She still wants me to come in and do a fructosamine test, but I don't really want to (I spend enough money as it is that's for sure) and I figure since I do testing at home I don't really need it, do I? Any thoughts? Has anyone else had this test done?

Very excited to see this PMPS for Lightning, thought he was going to bounce after that 40 last night but he's doing very well!! Anti-jinx!!

My vet told me to not bother with fructosamines since I home test. The test is an average of 2 - 3 weeks of BG levels. Your SS tells you more.

Bring her a copy of your SS or e-mail her the link provided she won't give you a hard time about it. My vet tells me I test too much -- I smile and nod. She doesn't live with Gabby and have to manage her numbers. I do. There are just things we agree to disagree about and I really like my vet.
