It has been two years today since our most beloved baby girl, Gracie, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We are holding @Wendy&Neko (Dec 6), @Josie & Ripley (GA) (Dec 13), and @Sienne and Gabby (GA) (Dec 23) close in our hearts and with love as December is the month their babies also crossed.

I hesitated about posting a condo for her today as there are so many new people and it’s been so long. But this is the place she was most loved outside of those who knew her personally. She is the reason we were here in the first place and she is the reason that I can’t walk away from FDMB. It is to honor her, to share all she taught us about FD, and to pay it forward that I continue to pop in and help when I can.

Most of you here now never knew her and the true legend she is in L/L Land. She brought so many smiles and laughs to members with her silly antics, her sassy expressions, and her infamous “Lupita Fridays”. Our housekeeper, Lupita, loved her dearly but Gracie had a love/hate relationship with Lupita and every single Friday that Lupita worked, Gracie would provide me with a funny interaction to share with everyone.

She was truly a “once-in-a-lifetime” kitty and losing her has been the greatest heartbreak of my life. I hold on to the promise that I will one day hold her again.

Last year, I did this memorial video for her and posted it. Please do not feel obligated to watch it but, if you do, it will give you a glimpse of my amazing Gracie, aka in L/L Land as “LBG” (Little Brown Girl), Missy G, Principessa, Lil G Money, Lil Stinka. She had many personas and many nicknames but was well loved by all.

Thank you for helping me honor my baby girl.

Marje, Thanks for sharing that beautiful video and story with us; so much gratitude to you for paying it forward. Gracie has left a void that nothing is going to fill and I hope that the memories and special times you had with her give you some comfort. I hope you dream of Gracie often and don't wake up sad that she isn't there, but wake up happy that she came to visit you again in those magical twilight hours. I know exactly what you mean by "once in a lifetime kitty" and I think those that don't just haven't met theirs yet! ;)

Oh! What an expressive, mushy and adorable face! It's sounds like Gracie's antics kept things humorous and added some needed levity around here and that is, truly, an awesome gift in itself! What an incredibly loving way to honor her and keep her with you by continuing to care for other sugar cats and their beans with your expansive knowledge of FD, lab results, kind works and spreadsheet wizardry (both technically and trend reading wise)!

Thank you, Gracie, for all of the lives you have touched when you were here and all of the lives you continue to touch, in spirit, in the form of your bean, Marje! :cat::bighug::cat::bighug::cat::bighug::cat:

Marje, I am so glad you overcame any initial hesitation you may have had in posting this beautiful condo for Gracie.
My sentiments echo all the others who have posted before me today.

Thank you for sharing Gracie with those of us who came to L/L Land more recently. You continue to honor her in the most beautiful, expansive way with every sugarkitty and person you have helped here. Uncle and I included. OF COURSE :cat:
Sending tons of love and comfort to you as you hold your baby girl close and we create a circle of hugs around you today :bighug:

Marje, I am so very glad you decided to post a memorial tribute of Gracie, it was lovely. Time passing means nothing when you have lost your heart kitty. There is something so remarkable in the bond you share with them, and when you are fortunate to have that, the loss is even more unbearable. In each and every photo of your tribute, you can see that Gracie absolutely adored you, and she indeed loves you as much as you love her. I really believe that her love for you continues on, you may not be able to see it, but I do believe you can still feel it. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Of course I had to watch the video again my friend. It means even more to me now that I've met you and Mike, seen the house, and especially the catio and Gracie's box. All of us here share so much with our sugar kitties, but it seemed like our girls, the Soul Sistas, were especially close. I am pretty sure they are together at the Bridge, looking down at us this month as we remember even more.

Marje, thank you for sharing such a beautiful remembrance of Gracie. I regret that I did not get to meet her because you can tell in those pictures that she was a pistol! I think the video gives we newcomers another layer of insight into why you are who you are here at FDMB. How fortunate you and Gracie were to have found each other. :bighug:

I still remember being at work when you let us know that Gracie left us for the Bridge. The only thing that hurt more was to have Gabby join her a few short weeks later. I hope they have found each other (and Gabby is playing nice, despite being a tortie) and are taking pleasure in each other's company.

They are a constant, quiet presence.

Thank you all for taking time out of your busy day and caring for your babies to post and to watch Gracie’s video. It has been a quiet day here for me as I just wanted to take it to spend with her.....going through her videos (I took a ton of them), pictures, and her special memory box that I made when she crossed. It has absolutely everything that was ever hers in it. It’s hard for me to open her SS so I thought I’d look at her glucometers to see what her last BGs were but they all need new batteries. I went through the dozens of cards I received and I read through the journal I’ve been keeping that details every single thing she did that was unique to her. Her best friend, Tobey, came running in and sat with me the entire time. He smelled all her things and I am sure he remembers her smell. He grieved so very hard when she crossed that, finally, after nine months, we had to get him a kitten. I am glad I had this time alone to just feel her spirit close to mine through all her things.

@Michelle and Mannie (GA) Oh my gosh we had soooo much fun, didn’t we? They were wonderful times and they got us through the early days and then the days when we realized she wasn’t going into remission. The parties, the jokes, the pictures on each others’ condos....I think we drove the moderators crazy but we had fun. And in the center of it....Mannie, Tess, Gracie, Binks, Gabby, and Rusty and so many, many others.

@Chubba Thank you so much for watching. She had absolutely gorgeous eyes that could see through your soul. And when I looked at her, I was certain I was seeing an old and wise soul who came back in this life one more time to teach me about sacrifice and patience.

@KATIE&ovie Thank you, also, for watching. Yes, she was certainly a force. In fact, more than once, this picture was posted to her condo

@Chris & China And thank you for saying all of that. It means more to me than you know. :bighug:

@Bronx's dad Thank you so much, Paul. Thank you for taking the time to watch it.

@Stacy & Asia Your poignant words mean so much to me. I do dream about her and our animal communicator told me that Gracie said to her “we still dance together in her dreams each night”. She did have the most expressive face and it was quite Scottish Fold smushy although Tobey and Livia (our kitten) would argue their little Scottish Fold faces are smushier:joyful: If I left FDMB permanently, I would feel I was leaving a part of Gracie behind.

@Osha Thank you, my dear friend, Amanda. She loved headbumps and scritches for sure!!

@Barbara & Uncle I really appreciate your words, Barbara, as I know you are going through grief. I absolutely feel that circle of hugs.....and I needed to because only you all understand.

@Christie & Maverick Thank you so much, Christie. Your words ring so true that time does not heal the loss. I do feel her love; our bond was so strong that it transcends our physical separation.

@Wendy&Neko I’m so so very happy you came down. I wish we had been able to meet each other’s girls and our two, Soul Sistas forever, were very close. I know they are always up to some kind of mischief at the Bridge and I’m glad Neko had Gracie waiting for her to show her the ropes.

@MJW Thank you for watching. She was exquisite, inimitable, and a challenge to get regulated!!!

@Alicia & Maggie She was the sweetest sassy girl ever. The moment I saw her picture as a six week old kitten, I knew in my heart that we were meant to be together. It almost didn’t happen but one can’t interfere with fate.

@Bron and Sheba Thank you, my very dear Bron. Sending you tons of love and hugs.

@Amy&TrixieCat We started this journey not too far apart and we are both still here so that speaks volumes about our girls. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:
:bighug:
@Sienne and Gabby (GA) You were there for me straight away and I will always be grateful. I was heartbroken that Gabby followed so soon after but I am certain that they are all together, these sugar babies.

@Beenie Thank you so very much and I’m so sorry that you loss is still so very fresh. Many hugs to you and I hope you know peace in your heart that you gave Beenie all the love and care a person could possible give. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Tears and smiles and laughs, too, looking at Gracie's wonderful pictures. Marje, I'm very glad you posted this tribute. It brought back so many fun times. I know that Gracie, Neko, Gabby, Ripley, Mannie, Tess, Stu, Maggie, Sheba, Trixie, Max and the whole gang will be celebrating the Full Moon from the Bridge tonight. The L&LL kitties are so looking forward to seeing their GA brothers and sisters and pals during the Circle of Remembrance.
Rusty, Edward and I are sending you, Mike, Tobey, and Livvie special hugs and scritches this evening.
Gracie, LBG you are much loved.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) This brought tears to my eyes. All I can say is, I love you, my friend. You have been a steady beacon of light, along with Michelle and Sienne, from the very first days we were here....seven years ago. Thank you for your friendship and your special words. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Oh Marje - I'm so sorry on this anniversary of your loss of your beloved, beloved Gracie. :bighug:
Thank you so much for posting your video. Those eyes - those amazingly expressive eyes! What a personality and a variety of moods shone through each slide...
Gracie shared your life - and you are sharing her legacy with us, every time you help us and pass on some of the knowledge you learned through what was - clearly - one amazing cat. Thank you, Gracie - and thank you, Marje.... :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Marje, although I did not know Gracie I want to thank you for the last two years of loving, serving and helping here on FDMB . Your wisdom and expertise continues to bless us all . What a wonderful tribute to Gracie’s legacy . Prayers that your remembrance of her be sweet and you feel her there with you:bighug:

{{{Marje}}},

As always, I am late to the party.

I, too, will never forget Gracie. Her spunk and her enormous personality far outweighed her tiny body. Her antics are legendary, and Lupita Fridays were a must-read - I miss them so! Many hugs to you, my friend, as I know your grief is still sharp and painful. I am so glad that Gracie sent Liv to help you, Tobey and Mike heal and learn to laugh again. There is no forgetting Gracie, but I hope we can all remember her with a smile.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

@Girlie's mom Thank you so much, Darrah. Your words spoke directly to my heart....and to Gracie’s. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

@Beth 73 Thank you, Beth, for your sweet words. It is my honor to help in any way that I can. Gracie inspires me.

@Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey My dear friend, Tricia. Your words are always so thoughtful and poignant and never fail to touch my heart and comfort me. I rest assured that all who knew Gracie here in FDMB when she was alive and vibrant will never forget her. Thank you for giving me that assurance.

@LizzieInTexas Thank you, Lizzie. I love that figurine and it was given to me upon Gracie’s passing. It means the world to me as do all of our FDMB family.

Sometimes we have no words and this is one of those times. Because of beans and kitties like you and Gracie it is possible for us to have our hearts connected.

I remember the first day I came across this forum in desperation looking for help to save my kitty from FD, all the support ,love and help. We are all one BIG family.

Because of this horrible disease we are all brought together to uphold and carry each other and our precious fur babies along the path till it is their turn to cross over that temporary bridge, someday we will all be reunited together. So until that day we keep on keeping on and supporting and upholding each other.

Thank you soooooo much Marje and Gracie for coming to this forum and helping so many of us through our dark days and roller coaster days of FD!

We will never forget each other and look forward to being together with kitties in tow:cat::cat::cat::cat:

I truly love the memorial of that once in a life time fur baby Miss Gracie:bighug::bighug:

I wish I had known Gracie. I watched more of her videos, because I wanted to know her more. She was precious.

@DebG It has been a blessing for us to call so many L/L Land Members friends and to witness their own beautiful spirits as they care for their beloved cats....and you are definitely one who is special to my heart, Deb. It is so easy to help those who will do anything for their beloved kitty and that describes you. Your kind, caring, compassionate, and gentle demeanor is something we are all so grateful for. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

@Becky & Baby Girl Kitty Thank you so much.

@Gill & George Thank you, Gill, for those sweet words. I wish that I had had more time to engage with you when you first came on but I had my hands full at that time caring for Gracie. You have been a gift to FDMB.

@Anne & Zener GA Anne and Liz....dear, dear friends. I hope that when I say how much I love you two, you will fully understand how important your friendship has been to us all in this household. :bighug: :bighug: :bighug: You were both there for us in so many ways when Gracie crossed and I will always be grateful for your love and support.

@Kathy and TiTi Thank you, Kathy, for taking the time to watch all three videos. She was certainly precious!

@Doodles & Karen Karen...geeez, girl, I don’t even know how to tell you how important your friendship is to me..my fellow Arizonan. I knew early on that we were two peas in a pod and I treasure you so much!

@rhiannon and shadow (GA) yes you are one of the lucky ones who met Missy G and experienced her beauty and sass. And you are another friend I am grateful for and blessed with because of FDMB.

@Peg and Toby Thank you so much for taking the time to come on and post to remember Gracie. I’m so glad she brought you smiles.

I hope you are doing ok. I think of you often and know you are also grieving. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
