Ugh, it's days like this I say Im pretty sure I'll make the switch to Levemir once this current batch of Lantus runs out. We'll get good numbers, but they never last, and the bounces are too crazy and that cannot be good for Joplin. Sigh. One step forward, two steps back with Lantus EVERY TIME.

I try to view it a little more in a positive light.
Every bit of time he spends in a blue or green is helping.....
it's a healing moment.... even when brief.... and it's better than all high numbers all the time.

Joplin just needs time to get there.

I agree with Rhiannon. Those high numbers are telling you that Joplin is also getting into some low normal numbers. You've come down the dosing scale a long way with Lantus so far.

I made the switch to Levemir in September. My Neko's cycles are flatter now, but not all cats are when they switch. There are still some cats on Lev here that regularly get into the reds. So it might work, but there is no guarantee. The biggest thing you may have to get used to is a later nadir - but again, there are still some cats who onset/nadir earlier than the typical Levemir cycle.

I wish I had your positive attitude...I get frustrated easily It's always been in my nature to "give up" on things before seeing them through...it's one of the things that is making this a huge challenge for me! Hearing the positives from people like you helps, so I appreciate it :smile:
