Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

Hi Karrie, It's probably a combination of "shed action" and a bounce from the greens last night (were they in the 40s, or are they calculated using the Canadian measurements?). In any event, it will take a day or so to deplete Maverick's shed so that the new, skinnier, dose can be evaluated. Good luck with measuring those micro doses!!!

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

Thanks Ella. I know I chickened out on the skinny this morning. I think my brain wanted to believe it was a skinny .50 but I know it wasn't lol

He's never been bouncy before and he's never ever gotten low so I don't think it was a bounce. I wonder if its the timing of the shot somehow. He only got to the 80s yesterday. Before he was hitting 60s with no issues.

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

Karrie --

Your PM numbers from last night are 4.4 and 4.3. Did you mean a 44 and a 43 or do the numbers need to be converted to mg/dL? They are the same on the mmol/L version of your SS.

Just remember if you don't shoot consistently, you'll get wonky numbers!!

BTW, I am generally able to keep Gabby out of Gizmo's food by picking up Gizmo's bowl. Gizmo will graze or not eat if he's full. Gabby will eat whatever is in her bowl (or Gizmo's). However, if Gabby is snoozing, she's not going to get up to go to the kitchen unless she's really hungry. As a result, if I've picked up Gizmo's bowl, once Gabby leaves the kitchen, I can put Gizmo's bowl back down.

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

Dang. I was wondering what the heck you guys were talking about. I am using the WORLD template and I accidentally plugged in the Canadian numbers into the US sheet. I was thinking this morning I was sure I had entered them but didn't see them. Sorry guys. Fixing the spreadsheet now. The numbers should have read "77" and "79". ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

Don't the numbers convert automatically? If not, Randi/Max put a new version of the SS in the Tech Support center. I don't know if you can cut and paste into the SSs but it may be worth a try if you're doing this manually.

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117????

They do if you enter them into the world spreadsheet first. For some reason I typed them into the US spreadsheet accidentally. It works beautifully. I seriously love this spreadsheet and am so glad they got it working.

Re: 12/29 Maverick AMPS 117 +3 76

So even though his appetite has been off he hasn't lost much weight. His morning weight was 15.40lbs. This is consistent with his normal range. He hasn't been below 15.4lbs.

I'll get a +4 and +5 to see what his numbers do with this part of the curve. His Nadir seems to be at the +3 mark now if I go based on the curve from a few days ago.

Re: 12/29 Maverick -switching meters question - wwyd

I have two test strips left in the first bottle of Accuchec nano bottle. I have 50 new ones in another bottle that go with this chip.

I have 200 Relion Confirm test strips and a Contour meter shipped from a friend in the USA. It had to be shipped from Walmart to her place in Iowa and then up to Canada. The website says if they get cold they may need a solution to calibrate. This would be a month out because I'd have to ship to the USA and then back up to Canada.

So should I open a bundle of the Relion and check against the two remaining strips of the accuchec to see if they are accurate? How long are the accuchec strips good for if I open the container or not?

What would you guys do. The accucheck strips are $80 for 100 up here vs. 40$ for 100 Relion in the US. Once the Relion ones run out I'm going to be buying Accuchec strips off Ebay. I didn't know about this before I went through the hastle of ordering the Relion from the US.

Re: 12/29 Maverick -switching meters question - wwyd

I hope I made the right choice. I opened the new contour meter and a box of contour test strips. I hope the Accuchec 50 strips will be good for a while. I have 200 contour. At least this way I could test the contour strips against my two remaining strips from the current accucheck bottle.

Readings tonight - lowest PMPS in a while:
Accuchec meter: 79
Relion Countour Meter: 72

Drawing up a .5skinny tonight and will stick with it. I have lots of test strips (I hope they are accurate. They must have been exposed to freezing temps at one point during shipping)... 200 of them. And 50 Accuchec if I have to open them.
