Ouch!

He is quite fiesty this morning though. Has been out to survey his territory and gave my elbow a good gnaw after his middle of the night BG test. Interestingly even at this sort of level he is not weeing like a maniac like other cats seem to???

I gather it is quite common for the BG to rise temporarily on a dose increase, also I did give him a bit of cat lax yesterday morning which contains stuff he no doubt should avoid (particularly malt syrup and caramel) but it's furball season and he doesn't need the constipation on top of everything else and was getting quite upset about it.

Yesterday:

Not sure if I've done that correctly. I just pasted the link between the url thingies. Can someone please let me know if that is correct.

The link to yesterday's condo is purrfect.

As far as hairball treatments, there is one called Vetbasis that is okay for diabetics. I don't know if you can get it there.
You can also use just plain vaseline, or I've been told that even a little butter helps yumm yum.

Come on down, nice and easy, Vyktor.
Have a good day, Vyktors Mum :-D good luck finding the syringes.

We use the Australian Cat Lax, and it has no adverse effect on Balki's BG levels. I assume it's indigestible anyway. Vetbasis hairball gel appears to be discontinued, and has never been available in Australia. I ordered hairball gel from the US, and it was seized by Australian customs. You can't import any pet food or supplements.

Also, I believe that syringes with half unit markings are not available in Australia. We ordered a box from the US. We did ask Jacquie Rand about it, and she just directed us to the Wikia page on syringes.

Yay because he's happy to eat that straight of my finger and Vyktor is an absolute psycho puss if anyone tries to shove something down his throat that he does want. Even his old vet refused to give him worming pills (or turn his back on him - )!
