Haven't posted on Smokey in a while. Things have been crazy busy and I've been sick. Not much going on with her - same old pattern with maybe a little progress at 4U. I held her dose at 3.50 for a while to get through a switching of pens, I didn't want a change in potency to mix with a change in dose. Vet does do 1/2 unit dose adjustments that is why we went to 4 not 3.75.

Smokey appears to have a lust for travel! This is the first time we've ever taken her with us anywhere and her BGs fell pretty nicely while we were away from home! It does appear that she did get into bouncing higher from it though. Once we got back home she's back into her flat yellows. She was much more active while we were gone, wandering the house talking away and she ate a lot less (drank like a fish!) so I think all that contributed to her lower numbers. We also had a fresh pen since hubby insisted that we pack the insulin in the cooler and then figured out it wasn't going to be very accessable on the road so we had to grap the new one. I was certain a cop was going to pull up beside me sitting in the Applebee's parking lot trying to tap air bubbles out of the syinge by the car's interior light :shock:

Hope things have calmed down and you are feeling better. It was nice that you could take Smokey with you. It's always a lot easier to know what is going on. I can see you in AppleBees parking lot. :smile:

Some cat's numbers will drop from stress. That may have been a factor.

I did tell her it looks like we are going to have to stress her out a lot more

Her whole demeanor was better. My brother had just visited the weekend before and he said he couldn't believe the difference in the way she acted. At our house she just pretty much lounged around and looked like an old cat. When we were up there she was all over the place checking things out, talking away, swishing her butt and flipping that big fluffy tail around like she was all hot stuff. She even let the kids pet her and she hates kids.

I just chalked it up to the better BGs. She's always had more energy (and a bigger mouth) with lower numbers.

Back home she is a couch potato again. Napping all day long, getting up for a snack, and back to bed. Her home here is old and boring, she's already seen it all.
