Good Evening L&LL,
We hope that everyone had a good holiday. Ours was excellent. Rusty was a good traveler and a good guest in my sister's house. Only one little problem: he likes to get up onto her table and she doesn't like that. He doesn't understand that someone else's table can be forbidden to him! We had a great Xmas Eve and Day at my nephew's house and came home yesterday, worrying that the roads would be bad because of heavy lake-effect snow on our route (we almost took a different--2-hour longer--route, but decided to wing it; it wasn't bad at all).
Our region has settled into a deep freeze: it's -9 degrees F. already this evening and expected to go down to between -15 and -20. Tomorrow I have to take my car to Burlington VT for it's first servicing. That will be 2 and 1/2 hours on the roads and the Lake Champlain ferry. But at least no new snow is predicted. The high in Burlington is supposed to be +4 (that's much warmer than it will be here in the Adirondacks). I've had the appointment for 5 weeks, so don't want to postpone to a later date.
Rusty had his usual trip bounce(s), but seems to be settling back to what has become "normal" (= unpredictable). He ate well and got a nifty new track-ball toy from Santa Paws.
Wishing everyone a good evening. Stay warm, all of you in the frozen northlands!
