Thx to Wendy&Neko for the suggestion to use a white piece of paper on the light box! I used a sheet of copy paper and it worked great! And LizzieinTexas, I have a similar one of those magnifiers but the one you pictured is better as it's lighted. When I unpack and find the one I have, I'll give it a try as I kind of need a 3rd hand, lol.

I will be able to do +1's to +6's today with maybe a +8, too so watch for his SS updates.

I did catch urine at the +2 today but it touched his prepuce and there was a slight color change on the ketones and that happened once before when I touched his skin collecting it--not sure if that happens or if it was an accurate reading or not. Again, I am fortunate that he squats high and doesn't have fur, HaHaMeow, but I walked into the room as he was peeing and fumbled around for a stick and by then he was about to finish urinating and moved.

Thanks again to all in this comforting and knowledgeable group!

I keep a soup ladle by the LB and when Freckles goes in, I'm armed and ready! lol

I saw your question from yesterday. Yes, if 1u = 15.2mm on your syringes, then 1.25u would be 1.9mm as measured with the calipers. You might find that you got a box that are more accurate and the top (needle side) of the plunger is exactly at 0. That can happen. You only need to worry about the black top (needle side) of the plunger being at 0. You don’t need to have the lower part of the black on the plunger above or equal to 0. All your measurements should be with the top black part of the plunger lining up with the dose measured (eg. 1.9 mm for 1.25u). Does that make sense?

Good luck with lantus and I’m glad you are testing more. Could you please update your signature block to show he’s now on Lantus? You don’t need to put the dose as it changes. Thank you!
