Pumbaa's last thread from 12/24.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! While Pumbaa bounced Christmas morning, it was a blessing since I was so sleep-deprived after staying up with him on Christmas Eve night. I made good use of the time, but I was seriously dragging my butt Christmas morning.
He cleared the bounce Christmas night, and hit greens again late in the cycle, which I really didn't expect! I had to delay his shot this morning because he was still dropping at PM +12. Fortunately, he started going up again at +12.5.
I was praying really, really hard that he would spend all day today in greens and blues, but he kept creeping up slightly during the day, for a peak of 265 at his PMPS.
Pumbaa is on his 12th cycle at 2.75U, and here he will stay for a while, since he's shown me that he wants to hit greens at this dose, and stay in regulated numbers at this dose. If I do see the need to increase him, it will be to a fat 2.75U and not back up to 3.0U, because, as Carl pointed out, his ideal dose could be between 2.75U and 3.0U.
One of the things I prayed for for Christmas but didn't receive was to have Pumbaa flatten out and stop his bouncing and diving. It's okay, though, because he's healthy and active and very loving and so much better than he was when he was first diagnosed.
And, I am counting my blessings because one of my mom's cats is nearing his end. Freydo was always a skinny cat, and a champion barfer. In the last two months, he's been barfing more and losing a lot of weight, and the blood tests and x-rays show nothing. He is now down to skin and bones, and I've been force-feeding him baby food and water for a week now. (Sometimes he'll lick the food off my finger, and sometimes I have to actually put it in his mouth.) A few weeks ago, the vet said that it could be a cancer that they aren't seeing with x-rays and physical exams. I really don't blame Mom for not going to the next level and getting the MRI's, etc., when she is dealing with her own health issues/medical expenses, and would not subject Freydo to chemo/radiation/surgery even if they did find cancer. I wish what is wrong with Freydo was something they could easily diagnose, and treat. He's had other symptoms over the past couple of years, like these weird nervous twitches and running/stopping/grooming, several times in the span of a few minutes. We have an appointment Thursday afternoon to put the little guy out of his misery, since he hides all day and is starving himself to death. :YMSIGH:
