just want to verify I am increasing him .25u so I will be shooting 2.25u? it's so hard to add the ".25" on the syringe

I would practice trying to measure the 2.25 dose, and once you think you have it, try to be as consistant as possible.
I know those .25s are hard. I usually have an "example" syringe that I keep to compare my current dose to.

I would go with the 0.25u increase. If you take a look in the New to the Group sticky, there are photos of syringes set for partial unit doses. That may be of help.
