Merry Christmas, Lantus Land!

Binks and I want to wish all of you a thoroughly enjoyable day, and good health to all Kitties and beans!
We cherish you all.

I'm off to go pick up my sis...but will be checking in on the boy regularly...and checking up on the forum later in the day, and at that point, will be taking the opportunity to tell y'all what i think of you! (in some families, that could be unpleasant, but since we think the world of our lantus family, it'll be painless! :-D

3 P's so far for the boy...

May all your wishes come true!

Peace Talks News Story Interlude:

The temporary Cease-Spat on the west bank in Boise suffered a unexpected setback this afternoon caused by a severe Smackdown in Binkstown this afternoon.
a source from within the Cudd compound reports that hostilities had a sudden flareup caused by a vicious sneak attack led by incumbent Manx Prince Binks, and focused entirely upon the leader of the Rebel Tortie Cell known in local circles as "Smudge Larue".
No prior warnings or challenges were issued, but witnesses say the charismatic young grey manx commonly regarded as a conciliatory, yet forward thinking leader abandoned his "Peace for All" principles and launched himself like a SCudd-missile onto the unsuspecting female, and- in the words of an amazed bystander "Beat the livin' tar outta her!" a shocked member of the "Purry Furry Clan" Embassy corralled the spittin manx demon, while members of the much maligned Rebel Tortie Cell dashed for cover.
They remain saddened and upset in their bunker...while the triumphant young "Grey Fireball" patrols his territory in a wonky-legged victory march. unfortunately...no film at 11.

and finally, as promised...Group Assessment:

in my past as a counselor, we invariably had to endure an unpleasant ritual every other week known as "Group Assessment".
Now, for once, it is a thing that i can take great pleasure in giving a report on a group known as the FDMB. So...here it is:

I want you to know that you folks have been an absolute blessing to Binks and I. I was at the end of my rope, financially, emotionally, and physically-and had gone online in a last desperate attempt to find some solution for Binks' situation...i had reached the conclusion that the only thing left to do was to find some foundation or kind soul that might take the boy and give him the care he so desperately needed...as i felt that within a month or so...my inability to help him would result in losing him. And at 3 in the morning...I stumbled onto the FDMB website.

I sent an email to Venita and DCIN...we subsequently spoke on the phone...and she intervened on our behalf. That was the first miracle.
The second miracle was when we were welcomed and embraced by a crazy, brilliant, fun-filled and compassionate world known as "Lantus Land"...and here we have not only survived...but thrived!
The wonder to me is that i believed our personal situation would turnaround soon...and it did...but it would have been two months too late for the boy...he would have had to have been re-homed or would not have survived...he was desperately ill when you kind souls set us on the right track.

Are there words to describe the inhabitants of this "Lantus-Land"? why, yes...there are! and this verbose bean is about to use them!

you are a group that defines: witty, intelligent, knowledgeable, supportive, compassionate, truly sensitive, firm when needed...comforting when desperately needed.
you have touched us in ways i never expected...i marvel at your ability to bring me continually and daily to experience laughter, sorrow, revelation, and awe.
You give of yourselves in a way that is far too rarely experienced in the world we live in...and for that, I will be forever grateful.

So, to you...on this day...i want to express my deepest gratitude, affection, and admiration.
We thank you...we love you...and you are, without a doubt...the best gift we have ever received!!

Celi and Binks

What a great post Celi. That about sums this place up. And, I must say, you brighten LL with your wit. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope PEACE prevails now.

Celi: what beautiful words and I know that they come directly from your heart and your equally beautiful soul. Since you were here before we were, I had no idea that things were so bad for Binks but he has thrived not only because of LL but because of your love for him and your search to find him the help he needed. Thank you for the wonderful words you left on our condo. Peace and love be with you always.

And tomorrow...well...we be rockin' it in LL again

Merry Christmas Celi, Binks, and family!! :) Thank you for being a daily visitor to Willow's condo, even though I'm a slacker at visiting condos.

Merry Christmas Celi and Binks!!!

I didn’t know your Binks had a rough time for a while… but I’m glad you found LL and are both doing well now. You are a great contributor here, Frip and I appreciate your visits in our condo… :-D

You seem to have a house full of kitties!!! Stupid question: I’ve been wondering what are adoptocats?

Celi, your beautiful words sum up so eloquently what I feel this Christmas for this community that has graciously taken me in. I am so glad that you and Binks have overcome your adversities to stay together and thrive!

May the New Year bestow many more blessings upon you!

Christie and Willie

  Sylvie! I call them the Adoptocats...but i should actually call them my civies. They are two very complicated female torties that were left alone here at my sister's house when she suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and had to go into a nursing home. I didnt realize that they were living here on their own for almost six years (long story)...but when we relocated here...Binks and i moved in with them.

it's been an interesting journey, to be sure...but i've never experienced the tortie personality...and binks and i are getting a crash course in "tortitude complicated by abandonment issues".

but i figure with love, patience...and a safe place to hunker down when they exert their displeasure...we'll work it out!

Celi & Binks--You have brought the gift of Humor to Lantus Land, in you own creative way, making each of our days brighter, happier, & always give us a laugh,
when perhaps we want to cry!! You are a gift to us too!
OK now we all know about the Adoptocats, poor little things, that you gave a life back to--Oh you need a HUG!!! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Celi, what a beautiful assessment. I join you in giving thanks for this magical country called Lantus Land!

and may peace reign in BinksLand soon!

Celi, I know you said long story...but how in the world did the torties survive for 6 years without anyone? Maybe a short version? Please!

Celi, there are days when reading your condo is all that makes this sugardance bearable. We thank you for reviving us and refreshing us.

What a wonderful post Celi.

And we are so fortunate to have you and Binks.

And your furball family is fortunate to have a wonderful Secretary of State to help mend some fences.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Binks and Celi and the Happiest of New Years!!

Har Har I was much later than you !!! (at being late to say Merry Christmas!) - actually I must confess, yesterday I got to the point where I couldn't remember who I'd visited (and/or said Happy Christmas to) and who I hadn't (actually, come to think of it, this happens every day, when I attempt to keep up with the bewildering blur of postings that is Lantus Land...!)

And for your group assessment: Well said, Celi you were able put into words what I do believe, we all think.

By the way did anyone ever say: You should take up writing for a living!

Merry the day after Christmas - :-D What a wonderful heartfelt post. I had read it last night after what was a rather long, long day of many miracles, after reading so many wonderful posts in Mannie's condo regarding a completely off-topic subject, and really could not help but think how right you are. We are such a wonderful group of people, and I too owe all of you so much. Well said Celi!! You were able put into words what I too do believe.

YES!!! This says it so well...

Celi, Thank you for brightening our days (and nights) here in LL! And thank you for your beautiful words that convey the essence of our community. We are all sharing a thrilling adventure. Onward, ever onward! Let's go!!!

Merry Christmas! Happy Boxing Day!! to you and your kin, to Binksy, and to the Adoptocats,

Many hugs,
Ella & Rusty
