Peace Talks News Story Interlude:
The temporary Cease-Spat on the west bank in Boise suffered a unexpected setback this afternoon caused by a severe Smackdown in Binkstown this afternoon.
a source from within the Cudd compound reports that hostilities had a sudden flareup caused by a vicious sneak attack led by incumbent Manx Prince Binks, and focused entirely upon the leader of the Rebel Tortie Cell known in local circles as "Smudge Larue".
No prior warnings or challenges were issued, but witnesses say the charismatic young grey manx commonly regarded as a conciliatory, yet forward thinking leader abandoned his "Peace for All" principles and launched himself like a SCudd-missile onto the unsuspecting female, and- in the words of an amazed bystander "Beat the livin' tar outta her!" a shocked member of the "Purry Furry Clan" Embassy corralled the spittin manx demon, while members of the much maligned Rebel Tortie Cell dashed for cover.
They remain saddened and upset in their bunker...while the triumphant young "Grey Fireball" patrols his territory in a wonky-legged victory march. unfortunately...no film at 11.
and finally, as promised...Group Assessment:
in my past as a counselor, we invariably had to endure an unpleasant ritual every other week known as "Group Assessment".
Now, for once, it is a thing that i can take great pleasure in giving a report on a group known as the FDMB. So...here it is:
I want you to know that you folks have been an absolute blessing to Binks and I. I was at the end of my rope, financially, emotionally, and physically-and had gone online in a last desperate attempt to find some solution for Binks' situation...i had reached the conclusion that the only thing left to do was to find some foundation or kind soul that might take the boy and give him the care he so desperately needed...as i felt that within a month or so...my inability to help him would result in losing him. And at 3 in the morning...I stumbled onto the FDMB website.
I sent an email to Venita and DCIN...we subsequently spoke on the phone...and she intervened on our behalf. That was the first miracle.
The second miracle was when we were welcomed and embraced by a crazy, brilliant, fun-filled and compassionate world known as "Lantus Land"...and here we have not only survived...but thrived!
The wonder to me is that i believed our personal situation would turnaround soon...and it did...but it would have been two months too late for the boy...he would have had to have been re-homed or would not have survived...he was desperately ill when you kind souls set us on the right track.
Are there words to describe the inhabitants of this "Lantus-Land"? why, yes...there are! and this verbose bean is about to use them!
you are a group that defines: witty, intelligent, knowledgeable, supportive, compassionate, truly sensitive, firm when needed...comforting when desperately needed.
you have touched us in ways i never expected...i marvel at your ability to bring me continually and daily to experience laughter, sorrow, revelation, and awe.
You give of yourselves in a way that is far too rarely experienced in the world we live in...and for that, I will be forever grateful.
So, to you...on this day...i want to express my deepest gratitude, affection, and admiration.
We thank you...we love you...and you are, without a doubt...the best gift we have ever received!!
