Yesterday Neko got a dosecrease threat, today she got it.

12/23 Recap:
AMPS 162 +4 306 +8.5 191
PMPS 269 +6.5 275

So this morning I figured out what Neko is going to get for Christmas, beside the new nanner that is stashed in the closet. I'm shortly heading down to the local pharmacy for a new 5 pack of Levemir cartridges. I did bump up Neko's dose, but I also got thinking about the fact that I recently switched to a new cartridge. And lo and behold, it was 9 days ago. This was cartridge #3 in the pack. I started seeing bad number for cartridge #2 after 9 days and her numbers were great after I returned to cartridge #1. Hmmm. It may be she needs a dosecease, but just in case it's new juice she needs, I want to get new insulin before things close up for the holidays.

Poor Neko - she's getting a pokie break until later today. She did go outside for a while this morning, but she mostly just hangs around quietly without play in these numbers. She hates them as much as I do.

Beans are back in the kitchen today. I make snow pudding for tomorrow night and I'm making a cranberry/orange eggnog bread for breakfast. Plus finishing off and packing up the chocolates. Whew. The day isn't long enough! Tomorrow we are heading over the island to have Christmas with my parents. In a log house against the woods with a big stone fireplace and old fashioned wood stove in the kitchen. Very country Christmas. :-D But I'll be getting up early and packing up Neko for the trip over (poor Theo will get a late dinner). Not sure I'll have time to post tomorrow morning.

Re: 12/24 Neko AMPS 245

Hi Wendy! Hopefully the new cartridges will give you the good juice? Good luck shopping :o I went to grab one thing for supper on my lunch break and was nearly ran over by all the people  What is snow pudding? Sounds interesting...

Have a great Christmas Eve, and day tomorrow with your parents! :-D

Re: 12/24 Neko AMPS 245

I hope the new cartridge helps Neko get back on track. Have a great Christmas with your family tomorrow.

Re: 12/24 Neko AMPS 245 +7 295

Hope the new cartridges help! Christmas at your parents' house sounds like a Currier and Ives print of an old-fashioned Christmas!

Re: 12/24 Neko AMPS 245 +7 295

I definitely hope the new package works. You might call the company that makes it......they've replaced two pkgs of insulin for me when I had similar circumstances and by that I mean Gracie was doing great and I switched pens and pfffttttt.

It sounds like your Christmas will be wonderful. Have a safe trip and enjoy the day. Merry Christmas.

Re: 12/24 Neko PMPS 250

Hi Wendy!
I hope that the new cartridge will bring Neko's number down.
It's so annoying we have to worry about the effectiveness of the insulin.
And we can't be 100% sure if it was handled and stored prior to purchase.
I had my clinic call me once to tell me that my allergy shot serum may have gone bad because their cleaning lady unplugged the fridge.
Another time my sub-q fluids supplier called me that my fluids arrived frozen so they had to re-order them.
These things happen, and maybe they don't always notice these things.
It makes me so paranoid!
I hope you have a nice Christmas visit with your parents.
Country Christmas sounds very cozy.

PMPS 250
Flat yellow day, and not in a good way. Neko got her Christmas present early - brand new joos tonight. Poor thing was unhappy today. Beans were in the kitchen and not feeding her all day. We had to watch what we dropped. Hopefully she didn't scarf anything evil. She did go out a bit late afternoon, so at least she got some exercise.

Operation Chocolates and Cookies is done but the packaging. We've given one away to the neighbours and the rellies will get a bunch the next 2 days, but I think we made WAY too much. Next few dinner parties we'll be unloading, umm, I mean gifting. I was getting into the dipping and my favorite is dates stuffed with homemade candied orange rind and almond, then dipped in chocolate. Yumm! All this with a cat hovering around the feet. At one point Theo decided he had to hop onto the kitchen chairs and check out cookies. Pair of peas in a pod.

For those asking, snow pudding is a water, lemon juice, gelatin thing whipped with egg white to make it frothy. Oh yeah, a bit of sugar too. It does look like snow and tastes like lemon. I still have to make the custard sauce for the top but crushed berries works too. It's from an old Good Housekeeping Cookbook. It is light tasting, which is why it's a favorite after a heavy turkey dinner.

@Rachel - I went to Save On Foods and not even a line up at the pharmacy! Timed it just right. Most stuff is now done, so for once we won't be up past midnight on Christmas Eve. :-D

@Carla - Me too on the cartridge/dosecrease combo. Next couple days will tell.

@Nancy - Me too on the cartridges, otherwise I dunno why she just went "off". No snow, but otherwise a good country Christmas. :-D

@Marje - I'll definitely be calling. Two cartridges is too much of a coincidence. Trip is only 20 minute car drive, 20 minute ferry, and 5 minute drive so doesn't take long.

@Rhiannon - My mother used to make snow pudding, it's become a family tradition and a nice change to heavy plum pudding.

@Liz - Me too on the blues and greens. Blues have only been peek a boo lately.
