Bern/GA Tashie called me today to tell me Kelly's Tomcat crossed this morning. On top of FD, Tom had become hyperthyroid, and recently, was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Tom was originally Kelly's neighbors' cat but he spent a lot of time at Kelly's and Kelly could tell he was not well cared for. With her neighbors' consent, she took him in and cared for him. He was her baby and she worked very hard to keep his FD well managed.

Please say a prayer for Kelly at this very difficult time.

Fly free sweet Thomas.

In memory of Tomcat

Kelly, as you know, I am heartbroken for you. Even though I never met lovely Tomcat, I adopted him as my own. I feel like we've been through think & thin together (((eh, we have))) but always hoped we'd have an OTJ party here - couldn't do it for my Tashie but thought I'd have a second chance with Tom. God knows we tried. You to the point of exhaustion. Thomas is safe & warm & pain free now so you can finally get some sleep. It's been two long years. You fought the good fight, he knows that, really, he does. The kindest, most humane thing was to let him go with some dignity, Tom liked his dignity - he was a dignified cat. Fly free my lovely Tom. You are finally fee of all that ailed you, so much toward the end. Baby boy, you didn't deserve this but you had the best care that a kitty could ever wish for - your momma would have sold her soul for you - and did at times. Love you Tom!
