Merry Christmas Eve!!! One more sleep although we've already opened all our gifts! Many, many prayers for a successful surgery for Georgia/Simon's Cleo. Sending many healing vines to Noni, Moonie, Kitten, and Chubbabubba today as well as any others who need them.
Gracie had a lovely flat blue day yesterday and    last night!! Yes, we had a PJ party and she looked like her former self....but then bounced today. Oh well.....I'm hoping she'll clear quickly. She did some diving on this dose so I know it can get her down; I was almost tempted to reduce it until her cycles yesterday. I tested alot more just trying to catch the dive....but she didn't     Snuggle night for us as I had the room about the temperature of the North Pole.
I mentioned the other day that her ALT was back up just a tad. Well....her triglycerides were also up. When I went back and looked, it coincided with when I started the coconut oil   Now...that does not mean that will affect every cat the same way; Gus's triglycerides have been fine and he gets much, much more than she does. Also, I know the coconut oil has helped Jill's Alex. This is just, obviously, a possible Gracie quirk. It's also when she started cycle after cycle of ick numbers so I'm wondering if (1) coincidence, (2) the oil was affecting insulin absorption (which can happen), or (3) the higher triglycerides are affecting her BG. And her ALT could be up because of the triglycerides. Or it could be none of the above and not even the cause/effect. But we gotta start somewhere so I took her off the coconut oil, which my vet felt was a very smart place to start. We'll recheck in one month to see if her liver enzymes and triglycerides are down. If they aren't, then we just start going through every variable to see which one is affecting her. But again....this is Gracie. So if you are giving coconut oil, do not base any of your decisions on her. She has always been sensitive to everything.
And speaking of little Missy G....here she is telling me it's +6 and minimeal time....in as loud a voice as she can manage.
Have a wonderful Christmas Eve.
