MerryChristmasEve!

We are keeping all the ill LL kitties and beans and all the beans who have recently lost their beloved companions, be it kitties or droolers, in our thoughts and prayers at this holiday season.

Miss Gracie decided to go for the "b" starting last night and I probably should have shot her early but with the holidays, there's no telling if I could have stuck to that schedule so I just let her be. She's flat yellow today and I'm hoping she'll decide to get back to business tonight. At least I can finish my baking without having to test frequently but I'd rather have her in green ;-) She and Tobey have decided that Liz's string on a stick is the toy du jour and we had alot of fun playing with it today. Tobey likes to get it in his mouth and run off with it but I don't want him banging the stick on the furniture as he flies through the house so I've been getting some exercise running along with him

One thing I'm concerned about is I found a little lump the size of a quarter under Gracie's skin on the left side of her chest where I shoot. It moves with the skin; Mike found a similar one a week or two ago on the right side but then we couldn't find it again. When I feel there now on the right side, I feel a little something but it's not as defined as the left and the right almost feels like a little fat pad. I'm going to watch it closely, avoid shooting there, and see if it has something to do with the injections although I do move around on her chest, both sides.. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve. Here's Gracie's day 'fore Christmas .....video...part 2 maybe tomorrow. It's taking youtube forever to download videos :-D

On the day before Christmas, my true love gave to me

Re: 12/24 Gracie AMPS 234 +6.5 273 Xmas Video

Hey Marje,

Gracie is so stinkin' cute! Love that little face. I can't get over how much bigger Tobey is than her - always surprises me when you post a pic or video of them both.

We tell human diabetics to rotate sites (just move over 1/2 inch or so with each shot) to prevent lipodystrophy. Repeated injection in the same spot can cause little hard lumps or dents in the tissue. They are harmless! but the insulin is not absorbed as well from that spot afterwards. I have wondered about this with Bailey since it's hard to tell exactly where I shot last time, with a non-furry human you can just see the spot! Just a thought, that may be what you are experiencing.

I hope you and Mike have a lovely holiday. Thank you for all you do for us here in LL!

So cute! Looks like someone's going to be sad when the holidays are over!

My vet warned me about those little lumps like you're describing. Just like Melissa said, I was warned that shooting too close to the same spot causes them. I think Jetta's got one too.

In my house, that pyramid would be on the floor!

If it's a flat yellow day, I wonder what tonight will be like?

Cute video. In my house, it would be in pieces by now. They would not be able to resist. Hope she doesn't bounce too long. Have a Merry Christmas, nice the DM is doing so much better.

Re: 12/24 Gracie AMPS 234 +6.5 273 Xmas Video

Yep, that would be toast in my house. It's amazing how she works it so carefully. Is miss Gracie going to grace your Christmas Eve with a green drop from that flat yellow?

So sweet...she's just so dainty and delicate. I can only imagine what my kitties (AKA, cute little bulls in a china shop  !)would do to that ohmygod_smile .

I've felt that little "fat pad" feeling with Trixie, especially when she was first diagnosed. It definitely made me nervous, too, but it's been 10 months now and I don't notice it anymore. I'm assuming it's because we do tend to shoot in the same general region. I've tried moving injection sites a bit, but Trix doesn't agree with that tactic.

Have a lovely evening!!!

hi guys - so sorry for the late post... the dy got away from me again. I love the vdieo. Very very cute! I am glad that Gracie eventually got a helper. :-D

Mannie has a lump similar to Gracie's. I had it checked by his vet, via needle aspiration etc... turns out to be the equiv of fatty tissue, and not the dreaded "C" word. His too is where his injections are given, so I too have since been trying to move the injector site around. Its' been a while since I found his, and was all set to remove it a few dentals ago, then in dental day it magically "disappeared". Weird... Now it's back... so we go through the drill again. I suspect that Gracie's will be nothing, as is Mannie's.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

Great video Marje! I didn't dare decorate this year with Oscar and Cleetus here! Have a very Merry Christmas! Hugs and love to you, Mike, Gracie, Tobey and Gus.

Hi Marje, what a great video of Gracie and Tobey coming in later! I just love that face! I was waiting for Tobey to start playing with the pyramid tree, and it was sweet how he followed Gracie's lead and plopped down on the table next to her. I am hoping the lump is just a fatty tissue. Glad your DM is improving every day and continied vines for her. Thanks for your friendship, Marje, and Merry Christmas to you, Mike, Gracie, Tobes and Gus.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your furbabies! What an adorable video! May Sandy Claws have visited and brought tons fo goodies for the furclan.

Sorry I missed you yesterday, I just collapsed last night. Tess has had those little bumps before and I just noticed them again. I try to rotate the shot site too, but they are much more cooperative when you do it in certain areas. I've got to be more diligent on that.
