Afternoon everyone...
I figured some of you are wondering.
Shadow did great with just my DD. She slept with her. Dd says she ate her foods....and even started playing randomly.
We are guessing her tiny dose of Bupe every night is making a difference.
May have to try giving her the morning dose too.
This morning she was rolling a tennis ball ( belongs to dogs) on the floor and attacking it.
Still have our appointment for the ultrasound on Dec 26.
Now for the ugly.
We got down to DGM house last Saturday. My DGM had bought a new mattress/bed (three quarter size) for my mother that had been just recently
set up for my DM but my DM hadn't even gotten to sleep in it yet since she's been in the hospital.
So we sent my DGM to sleep in it and we would sleep in DGM's bed since it was queen size.
Oy Vey. My DH went to sleep and got 2 hours or more before I climbed in.
My DGM had complained about itching in the night, she thought she had fleas.
About 40 minutes after I got in bed, I felt like something was crawling on me.... and I smelled cherry ... like cough syrup.
My DH said he was itchy too.... and it clicked....
I jumped up, turned on light, and you got it..... bedbugs.
one of the symptoms from them can be psychological.... and it sure as hell is.... I call it the heebie jeebies. You feel so violated.
So my DH dragged the mattress/box springs and bedding outside...
and we just had to stay up the entire night so we started working.
We were having a estate sale on sunday morning so we started pulling things we knew weren't going with us.
We also ran to the 24 hour walmart and found a Raid bed bug and flea killer. We bought several cans and sprayed and sprayed. They die instantly
but the other way is heat. You wash and dry everything that you can. Hot dryer.
We were determined to nip that one in the bud. So added work.
One of the things I also find online is that you can have delayed response to the bites.... which I think is what I'm having today. I sure hope so. nailbite_smile
I've been running so hard for days that I haven't had time to sit down myself. I am so allergic to so many bug bites that I am hoping /praying
that the red welts that I just found this morning are a delayed reaction.
IF not, we didn't win the battle. But since I'm the only one with little red bumps it makes sense.
My other thought was they were also in the car ( I drove DGM's car home)
But my DM and DGM have no spots either and they rode with me.
So... please pray that it's just me and a delayed reaction. I took some Benadryl and it's gotten better already.
That's the last thing we would want or need to deal with..... it's already been a nightmare getting thru this last week.
My DM did fine on the ride home..... no severe reactions to the changing altitude.
Had a ridiculous time getting oxygen for the trip. They sure won't make it easy....Spent the whole week trying to get it lined up.
We dropped her off at the nursing home first thing.... and we are trying to run back and forth as much as we can to get things to her
and spend time with her. They are such miserable places. I will see if they would like a dog visitor... our dog Gypsy loves everyone and could
probably handle it and enjoy the attention.
My DGM has been lost in my house. But that will get better ... maybe... confused_cat Lots of new adjustments and I see her dementia issues more and more. I need a sitter now because I can't even leave her alone. She loses all reality the moment she is alone.
I wasn't expecting that at all.
I have probably bitten off more than I can chew but One Day at a Time.
I won't bore you with all the details.... but I definitely felt like I was in hell this past week.
And now face the fallout as they both realize the situation and see it clearer in small bits.
Prayers for all the recent losses and troubles as I find them in my little glimpses of condos.
