Kai has breached the atmosphere the morning
praying for a gentle landing today
Things are staying real busy with the Holiday right around the corner. We got Kai's Lab results back last week and I have been putting off making an update about that becuase things have been so crazy. I have updated them in his spreadsheet but here is a list of what we learned from his labs and that vet visit.
In addition to all this, Kai will not leave the mass on his side alone. Ever since they did the FNA on it he is now hyper aware of it. I am forcing him to wear a shirt until it is completely healed. He hates it but it is either this or the cone of shame. I am now obsessed with buying him shirts
Please enjoy a picture of Kai in his baseball jersey.
I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday! Safe Surfing everyone

Things are staying real busy with the Holiday right around the corner. We got Kai's Lab results back last week and I have been putting off making an update about that becuase things have been so crazy. I have updated them in his spreadsheet but here is a list of what we learned from his labs and that vet visit.
- BUN and Creatinine are still high which is to be expected BUT there was some small improvement compared to his last lab, which is a good sign. It means his CKD hasn't gotten worse at least.
- Phosphorus levels have risen, so we are putting him on a stronger phosphate binder, I don't think the PhosBind is cutting it. We are going to try Naraquin first and if that doesn't agree with him then we will try Catney One.
- RGB, HGB, HCT were a little low, meaning he is a little anemic.
- ALP was extremely elevated. Like in the 1600s
! But his other liver enzymes are normal. His vet said that if he were in some sort of liver failure that his other liver enzymes would be elevated too so she thinks maybe he has some sort of infection. So we are going to do 2 weeks of antibiotics to see if that might get rid of any infection and help lower his ALP. - We have ruled out pancreatitis after his Specific Feline Pancreatic Lipase came back normal, so we don't think that is causing the elevated ALP.
- They ran a verification on the first lab to make sure there wasn't any mistakes or contamination and there wasn't.
In addition to all this, Kai will not leave the mass on his side alone. Ever since they did the FNA on it he is now hyper aware of it. I am forcing him to wear a shirt until it is completely healed. He hates it but it is either this or the cone of shame. I am now obsessed with buying him shirts
