Good Morning, Everyone,

The winter storm is upon us, thankfully today and not tomorrow, when we have to travel. It's very windy with almost blizzard-like conditions. The rain yesterday and the freezing rain last night left a good slippery "base" on the roads!!

Rusty had a good night, ate all of his nighttime food, had a good test, shot, breakfast ("triple" delight: Wellness Turkey, Wellness Chicken, FF T&G), and now a nap in his basket. Like last year, he has no interest in going near the Xmas tree! I think it may have to do with something that happened in his past.

This morning Edward and I are baking a pistachio coffeecake ring for breakfast on Christmas morning at my nephew's house. Then that is IT for the Xmas baking!!! I have to finish trimming the tree and wrap gifts. Rusty will get a nice combing and we'll play some games of Tube Ball when he wakes up from his nap. It will be interesting to see what he does with his bgs over the next few days (we're coming home on Wednesday). I hope that he doesn't lose momentum. These last few weeks have been amazing.

We want to take this opportunity to wish all of you, your families, and your furkids a wonderful Holiday. Travel safely, those of you who are traveling.

It sounds like a perfect day at your house! I hope you have good driving conditions for your trip, and that Rusty will keep up his good numbers while you are away. I already have my 2013 New Year's prediction ready to go! Safe travels, and have a wonderful Christmas!

And a merry Christmas to your household as well. I wish you both safe travels tomorrow. It sounds like it will be a winter wonderland there over the next few days, maybe even white christmas. :-D Be safe in that storm today.

I love the photo - what a nice ornament. Very cool. Rusty - what is up with you and that tree? Kitties are supposed to love trees... No worries there my friend. Mannie and Elsa are being abit aloof about it all this year too.

Sounds like a great Caturday on the agenda for you today. Enjoy the time.

I will send good BG vines for Rusty. I hope they continue to be as good as the past several days. Amazing stuff.

Ella, Merry Christmas to you and Edward, and I wish for safe travels tomorrow. I guess you are driving! Beautiful Christmas pic. It sounds so yummy at your house. I think Mannie and kitties should include your house for our cookie hopping spree today. :-D

I love that pistachio coffeecake ring. i made it last year and got raves. Of course I have to make Jule Kage too!

Hi again,

We just got the pistachio ring into the oven and I am about to do my wrapping of gifts. Sienne, I sent that video to a friend whose cat is all over their Xmas tree. I visited them this morning. We were downstairs in the basement when we heard all sorts of bumps and bangs. Sure enough, "Squeek" was at the top of the tree, playing with the ornaments!

bbl to visit condos. It's still snowing. We're supposed to get only about 6 or 7 inches, but tomorrow we will be traveling through the lake-effect snow belt, where they are expected to get over a foot. Hopefully the roads will be OK. I have all-wheet drive and winter tires on my car, but can't say the same for other drivers!! We always carry all sorts of winter-emergency stuff and extra fleece blankets. And then there is Rusty to keep us warm :smile:

p.s I just heard from my sister: they have over a foot of snow and it is still snowing. If conditions are terrible tomorrow, we will go on Xmas Eve day.

Hi Ella. Sure sounds like Rusty had a wonderful breakfast this morning. I hope she doesn't get too stressed during you trip. Be careful and drive safely tomorrow.

Holly daze is right! I'm already in a daze, I'm so far behind. Rusty is surfing in the 60s and I think he's anticipating the trip: he's depressed! He hates those trips :lol: .

Pistachio ring came out GREAT!
