Yesterday Jetta 12/21
Another pink sunrise for Jetta. She's eating like a horse this morning, I think she's in breffis #3 right now- hard to keep track! I've got my patience pants pulled on this moring and hoping for some downward movement in Jetta's numbers. DH and I are both pretty discouraged still. :YMSIGH:
AND-Much excitement here this morning. I opened the lanai and set the feral cat's food out at 7 like normal and Marmie (big Orange male -short for Marmalade) came right away, he's almost always first. Usually momma kitty comes pretty quickly, then later in the morning Tippy arrives (momma's sister). Anyway, DH walks out of the bedroom dressed for work about 725 and says uh-oh! We had 3 giant racoons in the food, on the lanai!!!!!!!!! And I do mean they were GIANT!!!!!!!!!!!! They had to be 30 pounds apiece! All of our cats except Jetta were lined up in the sliding doors staring. So we had to chase off the racoons which spilled cat food everywhere which brought a flock of no less than 50 birds. 2 of them got on the lanai which meant me out there -still in my jammies-with the pool skimmer net chasing them around. Finally got rid of them and closed the doors. My neighbors could really cash in if they had a video camera handy this morning...
I've been begging DH to build a racoon proof cat feeder for outside and after this morning's mayhem, he finally agreed ;-)
