Hi again, another late night. Too tired to do anything useful!
Rusty had a good day. if a bit subdued. He is getting into the xmas tree water again. I wonder why it tastes so good? Anyway, he has good appetite and it isn't making him sick.

Very cold here today and we had lovely sunshine for our Winter Solstice celebration (around an outdoor firebox). We drank eggnog (with rum), ate cheese & crackers, and stood outside in the cold for over an hour. The marshmellows froze! Then we went inside and finished the food. In the afternoon it became overcast and a major winter storm is on the way. It may change our plans to drive to the Syracuse area on Saturday. The snow is to begin tonight, last all day tomorrow, and then turn to freezing rain for Saturday. We expect 6-9 inches of snow before the turn to freezing rain. We'll have to see how the storm progresses, not just here, but where we're going, too. We may decide to travel on Sunday instead of Sat. Snow is OK; freezing rain and ice accumulation is not OK!

It sounds like you had a nice celebration. I'm glad Rusty is doing good.
I read somewhere, maybe it was here, of someone putting pine cones around the top of the water tray to prevent their cats from drinking the water. I guess Rusty could just knock them out of the way though. If you had the right sized ones, you could jam them in there and he couldn't get to the water but you could still water the tree, I would think.

Sounds like Rusty is getting into that fancy water... He sees these humans drinking water with lemon or cucumber and just wants some nice piney flavored water. At least it doesn't seem to be affecting him. Jack likes to drink the human soup water after a shower... Cats...
