12/21 River (AMPS 112, +5 51)

Hi friends. It's been a wild week — here's our last thread.

We got our times a little wonky yesterday because we went to a 7pm movie and were on a date night. So we grabbed her BG at +11 then didn't actually shoot until about +14. And we gave her shot early this morning because DH is still on his way up to meet me on this learning curve.

Her numbers are looking great today, though, and we're getting excited for our Christmas trek.

On a personal note, I decided on Wednesday that I didn't really want the tip of my middle finger anymore, so I attempted to hack it off with a mandoline slicer while I was prepping dinner. Ended up in urgent care and got 5 stitches in the finger. It was the worst — I've never had stitches before. If you're wondering whether River's ear pricks and twice-daily syringes have desensitized me from medical stuff, the answer is a RESOUNDING no. I almost passed out this morning when I was changing the dressing!

Merry Christmas :|

Yikes on the finger! I get squeemish just thinking about it.

On your spreadsheet, it can help to note the shot times. So last night put 328@+14 in the PMPS cell. This morning, did DH shoot at the regular time? That would be 112@+10 if so. For a dose where she is seeing green, that is too early, as you know and he does now too. An early shot acts like an increase, and I rather suspect River is close to asking for less, rather than more insulin. Did you feed that 51? I’d be worried about her going low.

I noted them in comments on the cells, so at least…I understand.

I did give her a half can and she is nibbling. I'll check her again after my call at 2.
