Well, the increase to 2.5u and nice numbers didn't hold. He has been around 200 and above for a few days now, so I decided to open a new pen. Since opening the new pen, I have not seen a blue - but that is typical for him on new insulin. His body fights the sudden increase. @-)
I would normally go ahead and up the dose, but we will be traveling to NC on Thursday for Christmas with the parents and it will be a 12 hour car ride where he will not eat. Over thanksgiving, he went from 200s in the morning to 76 when we arrived :shock:
To look at Oscar, you wouldn't know that his numbers are any different right now - which is a good thing, I guess. The supplements for his homemade diet will arrive via UPS today, and I have a bid in on a good meat grinder on ebay right now. I plan on starting a homemade raw diet when we get back from Christmas, and I hope a good quality food will help our situation too!
