Hello! Sorry for no posts on the weekend, I was working on a big translation thing that required all my brain :?

Papaya had a lot of high starts over the weekend, but has been playing in a new box and out to the kitchen for most meals so she is feeling pretty chipper. Now when she hears me run the water in the kitchen (since when I test I fill a little bottle with warm water to warm up her ear) it is her cue to come see if there is a meal waiting. She has recently discovered my hair elastics (large and covered so not a chewing hazard) and is constantly flicking them off the bedside shelf to sniff them more closely. When I turned on the light this morning she had collected three of them and was sitting on them :lol:

She came down more slowly last night so hopefully today continues the slide. Have a nice Monday, everyone!

I have short hair and haven't had a hair band around for a long time, but I found one the other day and thought they would love it...NOT!
I got the "Really, would you play with the thing??" look :lol: :lol:

I just pictured her as a little mother hen sitting on the hair bands :lol: Too cute Papaya girl! She sounds great Amy...Good job! I'm curious about this translation thing that was more important than picking me out all those goodies :lol: Don't think I have forgotten just because you avoided me all weekend :lol:

Hi Amy, Carla, Pam, Jane, and Kim! Thanks for the visits, sorry I wasn't at many condos today, I'm still brain-dead from the weekend and it was a crazy day at work! I will be so glad to have a week off near the end of the month! (But don't tell Papaya that a car trip will be involved :shock: )

I'll take the "fairly flat" as that's about as much as I can hope for :lol: except PM went up and flat into pink . . . huh? Papaya, ever heard of "nadir"? The thing midcycle that is supposed to be LOWER than the PS? :roll:

Pam - so true, if you give it to them they aren't interested, but if they discover it on their own it's fun!
Jane - Now you're making me nervous :lol: may have to sleep with one eye open! Maybe she just wants to play with some hair styling since hers is short?

Kim - wasn't avoiding you and hiding my jam, promise ;-) To satisfy your curiosity - I sometimes get asked to translate an English sermon at my place of worship into Mandarin Chinese, which I've learned over the last 10 years or so including 4 years in Taiwan. Sometimes I get really thorough notes of what the speaker will say, and other times . . . I don't. This weekend was one of the times I didn't have much to go on. It usually makes me feel like I'm the subject of a public execution :lol: because I am listening to every sentence thinking "oh pleeeeeease don't use a word that I'm not going to be able to think of right away because as soon as you get to the end of the sentence I'm going to have to start talking whether I've got the word or not!" And people who have never learned another language don't understand that you might speak a LOT of it but not ALL of it so they don't really get the concept of using simple sentences and vocabulary. So yeah I find it pretty terrifying but there's no way to get better at it other than just do it!
