I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. I spent mine at home, with a few local hikes to add some outdoor time to a weekend full of chores and errands and general relaxation recovery time from a very busy week and Saturday with the boys. Sunday was an outdoor day for me, at least in the late afternoon. Here's what In wrote in last night's post about the day: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. We did well here, kind of a catch up day from all the crazy busy of the past few days. Shopping and laundry are done. House has been decorated for the holiday, as much as I do that is, and I even had time for the shore. YahOO! Lola and Bug helped with the decorating. Well Lola mostly, but Bug had to see what was going on too.SO.... Lola's Christmas-Capades has officially begun.... Lola was into everything. Expected I guess.  There is a artificial tree in my kitchen, stands only a mere 1.5 feet tall. Lola, and come to find out Bug, seem to think it is just fine. It makes for nighty fine chewing too. oh boy... I can hardly wait for when the 6-footer! She did fairly well today. Garlands were rolled in, light strands were chewed, trailing whatever was chased, and the Santas were batted around a bit. So far, all remains where it was placed. WOOT! Score: Lola: 6, Bean 3, draw 3. Not too bad....   I also made it to the shore today, in time for sunset. With the weather being what in was in most parts of the state today, rain and lots of it, I was more than elated that the rains never really did appear here, and that the Meadowdale Sunset tonight actually showed up. AWESOME! We didn't get the vibrant colors, but the skies were full of all sorts of things. It made for a great trek."

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... We had alot of window banging going on yesterday. Any glass surface Lola could find she banged on with her front paws: over and over again, and very fast.   It is incredible how loud that sound really is... Bug and Elsa split when they heard that. Guess they figured it couldn't be good... They know Lola too well.   I was decorating and went outside to do the deck railing in lights. Lola so wanted to be out there. She banged and banged and banged on that glass door..... At one point she even reached up to where the door latch is....  OH OH! I so hope she doesn't figure that one out.... PAWS CROSSED! I was impressed whoever that once we got through the decorating and Lola got through messing with everything she could, and Bug got past that tiny tree in the kitchen, they all left everything alone. I wonder how long that will last..... and a little bit of O.M.G. that Bug was up n that little tree too. OH OH - could there be two of them up the big tree?          :? oh boy on boy oh boy, and Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
I thought I'd include this video here, even though it is in the photo album:
Lola's reaction to being inside when I was decorating outside.     GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOLA!

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. One of those days when I shall see what comes to be. I may hike, if the weather improves. Paws crossed that it does. We are due for a nasty storm today, with tons of mountain snow, maybe even some lowland snow. So.... not expecting a hike but ya never know! ;-)

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

She's such a hoot. That's what Frankie does, too....not only to our bedroom door, but to the bay window in the back of the house, too. We have turkey vulture that nest way up at the tippy top of pine trees in the very back of our yard. They come back every winter (although I have not seen them yet this year), and when they fly around, so big and so far away, Frankie wants them sooooo badly she starts trying to dig her way out through the window! I keep telling her she does NOT want to see one of those birds close up, but she doesn't believe me.

I can't wait till your tree goes up! I gave up on that idea many years ago....too many crazy cats in this house. Have a great day, Michelle!

That video is hilarious. She does like to bang glass and wants to help you in the worst way. Tarragon used to be like that with the Christmas decorations. I haven't put up a tree in 3 years because he would just strip all the ornaments and I didn't want to aggravate me or him. This year he just looked at it and went in the other room. Hasn't even been back in there once. Crazy cat.

Have a great day Michelle!!

Hi Barb!! ~O) ~O) ~O) Thanks for the visit. it is awesome to hear from you. And yes: ME TOO! love that little girl. She has been such a great addition here. Such an awesome mix of sweet and gentle and mischievous and crazy.  I will check into cloning for you..... :-D

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) That she is! I like your Frankie. They sound alike in many ways. The pounding is nuts here. Anything with a glass surface, it's like there is this barrier that she wants removed, and off she goes: pound pound pound.... oh WOW on Frankie and the turkey vulture. Once a while back Lola was pounding so hard on the shower door, while I was in it. so on a whim I let her in. She thought that was great until the water hit her.  Now she checks to make sure the water from way up high is off. The door pounding however continues... silly girl. -- and a BIG YES (!!) ion that tree.... scary, but we simply have to have one. If only for Nicholas and William. What an adventure awaits us with that tree. I am beginning to wonder too on Bug, He is so mellow, but after trying to chew the little one yesterday I am thinking... oh no! now there will be two of them up that tree.

Hi Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes on that video, and her desire to be in the middle of what was going on. I about fell over when she reached for the door latch. oh too funny on Tarragon! WOW! Well... maybe in a few there will be a reprieve from Lola. How nice that he now just looks at it. There is something to be said for those senior kitties. Mannie loved his tree. he'd claim it as his, sleep under it, lived under it. But he never messed wit it, ever. Guess he didn't want a messed up home within his home.

Let the Capades begin :-D :-D :-D
Too funny with the widow banging.
Sissy will do that when she wants outside, or when she wants in the bathroom and the door is closed.
The closet doors are mirrored and she pounds on them till you let her in the bathroom
Silly kitties
Hope you enjoyed your day today
Have a great night Michelle!

So funny on Lola and the door banging. It sounds like Lola and Bug are going to have fun with the Christmas tree.

Hi Michelle - You have yourself a handful with Lola and decorations :-D And Bug wanting to join in :-D Going to be some fun times at your house!
Love Lola's digging out through the glass - I put my money on her reaching the latch :o

Have a great night!

 Lola! What a doll! Now that I've seen her on video, it will be so much easier to picture her "helping" you  And Bug is now in on it too, which is just a hoot!

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Our weather continues to be perplexing. Rains in some parts, sun in others and a whole lot of snow up in the mountains. I decided this morning to head on out towards Stevens Pass, see how far I could get before it became just too snowy for what I had intended for today, which was to visit a river, enjoy some outdoor time, and maybe see a flake or two. But not a blizzard.  . I made Gold Bar, maybe 25/30 miles shy of the Pass. I'd hoped maybe to head on up to Skykomish, or at least Index, but by the time I got to Gold Bar is was obvious that Gold Bar was as far as I was going. It was interesting: on the west side of Gold Bar, just a dusting of snow, on the east side there was close to 2", Funny how a few hundred yards can make such a difference. From the looks of the cars coming from the east it was coming down pretty good up By Skykomish, even more so by Stevens Pass, so.... enjoyed the river where I was instead. Played in the snow some, it was a nice time. Very pretty there, all covered in white, but cold. I spent some time too in a small park in between the town and the RR tracks, walked the rails for a bit. Anyways ... nice little mini road trip on HWY 2. Came home to blue skies. You gotta love it. When I got home I went down once again to Picnic Point to watch the sun set. I knew it would be good, just by looking at the sky, sure was. What a nice topper for the day. I will post the Picassa kinks in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Pam - that they are! The Capades have begun! Oh too funny on Sissy. Another pounder! I love it. I have never had a act that would do that, so this is a first for me. Kinda fun, huh, as long as the noise isn't when one is sleeping. THX on today - it was fun, cold (BRRRR!) and snowy, but fun.

Hi Carla - I agree on that door banging. So far it's only in the day time, so all is well. ;-) I think on that tree... I had so hoped it would only be Lola, but it looks like Bug is considering it too.

Hi Jane - oh yes, a handful says it well. i think Bug is planning on just that, if the little tree is any indication. Aiyee...... I wouldn't out it past her, Lola that is, on reaching that latch. She is very observant and remembers what she sees.

Hi Kim - oh yes, what a cutie she is. well yes, she really is. such gorgeous markings, and what a personality! now if we could just curb the mischievousness a bit... oh sure! I agree: Hoot says it well. Looks lie I may have two of them to deal with....

Hi Michelle,
Oh, that video of Lola banging on the door brought back so many memories of Stu, who banged on every door, open or closed. He always chose the most resonant door. And he was indefatigable.

Your hike today sounded neat. We were in snow today, too. Yes, winter is here!

Enjoy the evening,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & rusty

hee-hee...still cracks me up hearing all of you talk about snow and blizzards and the like. I'm still wearing flip flops and short sleeve shirts. Well, except my classroom is quite a bit cooler than outside. Would feel great if I could wear jeans and a sweat shirt to work, but professional dress just doesn't cut it and I'm freezing in my room all day. nailbite_smile  I'm not as brave as you. I don't put up Christmas decorations around here because Shasta eats EVERYTHING! Hopefully, Lola and Bug will only nibble!

Hi Ella :-D Whenever Lola bangs and pounds on the doors like that I think of Stu, and Amy's Frankie - both champion door bangers. Of course Stu would choose the most resonant door. So far Lola prefers glass or mirrors. There en energy is endless too. I did have some fun out in that snow. It will be interesting to see if we really do get some here at home. We are due for a very cold spell (cold for us - in the 20's), but the precipitation seems to have left, so I guess home shall remain snow-less.

Hi Deborah - Wow, it seems odd for us to read of shorts and flip flops! :-D Though I am sure when we hit the low 20's here for a few days I will dream of your warm weather! oh wow on Shasta. oh oh.... well bummer on the no tree N=and/or decorations. Shasta, maybe you could reconsider? I so hope on the only nibble... nibble would be good... :-D
