Sister continues to stay within normal BG ranges.

She is not really on the "food trial" anymore since I no longer awake at 4:00 am to give a snack.

I said goodbye to her brother Monkeydo Nov 26. He got peritonitis in the lining of his abdomen. His internist suggested surgery to "find and fix the leak." I decided it was not fair to him (he had a common bile duct bypass Sept 2020, and his last 14 months were filled with nausea, vomiting, and pain or uncomfortableness).

I am still grieving. As for the other cats, they just closed up ranks. They accept death easily, I believe. (Or perhaps they think Monkeydo got lucky and escaped?) ;)

Best wishes to everyone.

Hugs, Ann

I am very sad to hear about your loss of Monkeydo.

It hurts! With animals, I have observed many different reactions to loss of a companion or friend (or even acquaintance animal.). A lot of times I have been mad if they don’t grieve in an overt way that I can relate to. But I have been wrong. I have noticed a lot more subtle changes in my kitties that shows grieving/sadness. They can only do what their intellect and senses will help them to do.
