Good Sunday Morning, Everyone,

5 sunny degrees here this morning. A "calm" week weather-wise is predicted. That's good, since we have to travel on Thursday to my DS and DNeph for Xmas.

We had a good night last night. Rusty ate all his food and slept on the bed. I don't think he's become acquainted yet with the Xmas tree: still keeping his distance!! Interesting comment Claudia made in Rusty's condo yesterday about the 4 male cats she was fostering last Xmas (Rusty was one of them) and how some of them--she doesn't know which ones--sprayed around the tree. Perhaps Rusty associates the tree with those other male cats and is expecting them to show up?!
Anyway, we had a great play with Big Bug this morning. Breakfast (Wellness Turkey) has been eaten. I am in the middle of making a chicken paprikas for our mountain club's Xmas potluck this evening, and Edward is baking bread. I do plan to write some Xmas cards today. I doubt that we'll get out to ski: too much to do and the potluck starts at 5 P.M.

Everyone enjoy today, and we hope that those of you in California don't get swept away by the rains.

I can only begin to imagine how wonderful your home smalls this AM with all that cooking. The bread alone - what a heavenly aroma! Enjoy the potluck - sounds like fun.

Interesting with Rusty and the tree... perhaps that is the reason. I hope once he is sure that it is all his he will claim the territory underneath as his.

Sounds like a wonderful Sunday already. I do miss real winters! As for our rain, we've had nearly half our annual rainfall since Friday night. Snow is better!

Oooooooooo, tree decorating party!?? That was so fun at Mannie's! We can all help. I stlll don't have one, but it is so wet outside I don't really blame mom, .....yet! cat(2)_steam Can we come? I'll bring lots of walnuts, they roll all over the floor real good! -- Tess

Very nice beginning to what a beautiful day this sounds to be! It is interesting what animals remember & I suspect you are right.. that is why he doesn't bother that tree!

Lovely morning number for Rusty. I've been out of the loop since you and Edward welcomed him into your loving home, so I don't know anything about him, but it looks like you're doing a wonderful job with him, Ella. :smile:

I've been missing Rusty's condo - I've been awol the past couple days except for quick flyby's. I love hearing what Rusty is up to, and his singing. I wonder what he's thinking inside his little head about that Christmas Tree. I can't remember - is it a real tree? (I've been loving the pine needles in Pat's hair lol)

Another wonderful WCR and I always enjoy hearing about your day!!! Oh to be retired!! That is very funny about Rusty avoiding the tree..if only they could talk to us...well, I guess they can. I suppose what I should say is "if only we would listen". Enjoy your day.

Rusty...do you needs some help wif your tree? I'll help...can I bring Tobey? He's LOTS of help!

Hey Kitties! I'm not so sure about my tree, but everyone says it's OK, so my beans have invited all kitties who'd like to help decorate the tree to come tomorrow. I'm going to make tuna toddys. I don't think I want to get too close to that tree, however!

Rusty is basking in the sunshing (YES, we actually have sunshine; it's a beautiful winter day). He sat on a little table near the tree earlier this afternoon, but has not gone any further than that. This is a drama being played out.

hey rusty.....i'll teach ya how to deal with that big green thing if you teach me how to sing, k? we are having a kitty christmas choir and i was wondering if you might direct it? you can sing too since you have such a beautiful voice....and i think you should have a solo....whatever song you want.

Ella, thank you for the link to Rusty's transport and arrival. What an exciting time for you. I saw many but not yet all, the photos. He certainly is a gorgeous boy. :-D

We're back from the potluck (fun, but filling: lots of Xmas cookies) and Rusty has had his test, dinner, and shot. He also worked on his coat, sitting on a cushion by the radiator (at the opposite end of the room from the tree!).

Fantastic play in the cube this evening with a shoelace. This cat is a player! Edward's finger got in the way, but I refused to check Edward's bg because I didn't want to waste a strip!
