good morning Lantus Land! punkin is happily perched on the arm of my chair, anya has taken over my lap, and everyone seems content. i went back up a bit on punkin's dose to push him down a little farther. the 5.0 is getting him into mid-blues by mid-cycle, i think, so we'll stay with it for a while.

punkin climbed on me last night for the first time in a couple of weeks - snuggled on my chest purring, but he only lasted a couple of minutes. i don't know if it's painful or what, he seems to be moving fairly freely otherwise. we have a little bupe left and i'm thinking of giving him some of that again.

Good luck with the extra bit of juice. Punkin is doing sooooo well. Who would have ever thought?

Punkin is looking great, how nice that he cuddled! Even if it was only a couple of minutes. You appreciate it more that way :-D
 
aw, you guys are so sweet. i'm thinking only on here would you say "wow, down to 5u" for a diabetic cat dose! :-D thanks for cheering punkin on for his progress, even if it is different than everyone else's! :YMHUG: i feel so lucky to be here.

i nearly had a heart attack a few minutes ago. went to check punkin at +6 and the first strip wouldn't read anything. you know you've got a dud when it takes too long to pop up anything? so i took that one out, put another one in and up popped "error." must not have let it reset in between.

so one more strip and it said LO. i practically bolted for the karo, then thought :idea: if you get some number you completely don't expect, you should recheck it. right?

strip #4 was a charm. 193 seems about right, although i wish it were a little lower it's a logical number. so i'm believing this one.
 
Ahhhh..the strip wars!! :lol: :lol: :lol: I've found that if I retest immediately with the same meter, I get a much lower number so I don't do that any more. My backup #1 is also a OT and it reads almost always the same as the front line OT.
Glad you finally got a believable number.

I think this is such awesome news that Punkin is only on five units and he's doing so fantastic!!!

How's it going with the Terumos? They sent me a replacement box and those syringes are just as off as the first box. grrrrr....... ;-) ;-)

Enjoy your day cuddling with those two love bugs. Need more PUnkin/Anya pics :-D
 
and went up to 15.5u before starting down the dosing scale! we're at 1/3 of his max dose now.

i'd be happy to take more pics of the sweet punkin and anya, but my darling children have run off with the camera card. of course it was Not Me that took it, so i haven't been able to find it yet. the same darling children who think we are too materialistic and shouldn't give any gifts at Christmas (or perhaps only THEY shouldn't give any gifts).

now if you knew us, you would say we aren't materialistic at all. we give them about 3 gifts each, totaling less than $125 each. the eldest is getting a pair of vegan dress shoes, a pasta pot for her cooking passions and a map booklet of oregon. the son is getting the same map, a fleece pull-over, a book and a pair of rainpants. you get the idea. we're wild crazy materialistic people.

ah, the benefits of having adult children available to point out your flaws. i don't know how others get by without this assistance. imagine how awful it would be to go through life without someone letting you know of your flaws. ;-) :shock: :roll: :lol:

oh yeah, and "i don't like Christmas music" and "i don't want to decorate the Christmas tree anyway." :roll:

if anyone is feeling the lack of adult children in your home, i'd be happy to ship you mine about now.

oh you nearly killed me with that one, liz! hahahahahaha. punkin & anya are a piece of cake compared to the ungrateful brats.

ah, the spirit of the season is upon me! :lol: :lol: :lol: the youngest goes back to school on 1/8, so it's not too long that i have to endure being "corrected."
 
LOL...sounds like the spirit is bubbling over out there! Yep, the holidays do bring out the best in everyone, don't they!

And they only get more knowledgable, and more willing to share that wisdom as they get older! Something else to look forward to in your dotage! But be nice to them, they will pick your nursing home.

But Punkin looks good.
