Good day!

We had a long and active night. Morgaine dropped into the 40's and by +7 she was still not coming up too fast so I ended up feeding her a total of 3/4 of a can of HC along with 1 oz of 10%. I was really surprised that her AMPS was only 115 so I dropped her dose back to 4 units instead of a f4.00. Will monitor to see if that is too much today. She dropped by over 100 in 4 hours.

She continues to use her box at her convenience and then she uses the pee pad in front of it. I went ahead and ordered some Feliway spray to see if I can keep her from doing this on the bed. I also ordered another waterproof mattress cover so I can have a spare. I am at my wits end with this matter and want to find a way to adapt to this so she can be in the bedroom. At this point I just do not know what else to do. I am very frustrated and tired and just need to get some sleep. I am not getting upset with her because I know she is having some kind of issue. I just can't afford to take her to the vet everytime something like this happenes. She was basically given a clean bill of health with the exception of FD which is under good control right now. It seems like every vet visit costs hundreds of dollars and I just can not do that. She is eating normally and behaving normally except for the box issue. I keep it super clean as well. Any ideas are welcome.

Sorry to vent but I am way beyond tired and am going to go btb.

Sending healing vines to all in need.

wow, Morgaine...

way to work that insulin!

have you gotten any input on the pee issue from Beth & Atlas?

she has a pet care business...
and might have some insights to offer.

It's a really busy time for her now so she doesnt post regularly...but I think it would be well worth sending her a pm.

might take her a few days to get back to you...but she's pretty savvy with behavioral issues.

Thanks Celi. I will contact Beth later when I can think straight.

I'm so sorry Morgaine is having these LB issues. Is she wetting on your bed again, or just using the pee pad instead of her box? If it's just the pad instead of the LB, maybe she has come to see that as a legitimate alternative. If that's the case, she may return to using the LB exclusively if you take away the pad.

The positive part of today's picture is the great night she had. Of course her night of great numbers probably meant a sleepless night for you. I hope you can get some rest today.

Linda, she wet my bed again and it is a HUGE problem for me because I do not have a wahser/dryer in my apt and have to depend on others to help me get to the laundry room here. So, my bed is stripped and the soiled linens have been aired out and are now waiting until my cleaning gals come on Wed. Meanwhile, I am not able to sleep on my bed for fear of Morgaine going low so I am now sleeping in the living room on the sofa. I am really wiped out since I have so many health issues myself.

As for removing the pee pad, what I see her doing is hanging over the entrance to her box and peeing half in and half out unless her box has 2 or more pees in it. Then she just pees on the pad. So, the pad generally catches the overflow. I am constantly scooping the box and cleaning the front of it but overnight I don't catch it so she uses that pad. I think she would just pee the floor without the pad. That is what she used to do. I don't know what her issue is. She easily gets into this big box and will walk into it to poo but she pees on the edge of it always! Maybe she has pain when she squats to pee and needs the support of the front of the box as she seems to lean on it. The litter constantly sticks hard to the plastic box and I am constantly scraping it off and cleaning it with diluted bleach water to keep it clean. Dr. Lisa has a method she discusses on her site and i am using her method. I could never afford this litter if i had to dump the totally unused portion frequently. Morgaine is a big cat and her pees are big pees. GAH! This is so hard and frustrating and I am not sure there is a solution except to adapt myself to Morgaine's current behavior.

So sorry about the peeing issues. We went through that with Tarragon and carpet. The only choice we had was to put down hard wood and that took care of it. I had nightmares about it. We tried everything: feliway, Valium (for Tarragon), etc and nothing worked. Your situation sounds worse. Hugs to you!!!!
