Same, Same :confused: I wish he would come down to better numbers. 5Ps still good. We made a vet appt for tomorrow to rule out some things that may be affecting his numbers:

Blood work: would like to check for infection, pancreatitis, kidneys. Cosmo has been a bit congested lately too. Maybe sinuses? Anything else you recommend? We may want to start some pain treatments for arthritis. It has been a few months since his last cartrophen injection.

Our vet office has greatly reduced hours over the next 2 weeks, so we want to get him in before the holidays! We know that kitties like to get sick when the vet is closed :eek:

I think that’s a good idea just to see if there’s a reason he’s staying high. When was his last dental? Last labs? Other than being congested does he seem to feel well?

He had a dental within the last 2 years. He had a fang break a few months earlier (before the dental), and they said it had reabsorbed at the time of dental, but we stopped seeing that vet in June/July of this year....we weren’t happy with his care.

Last labs were in May and on a tab on his SS.

Yes, he seems to feel well :) Just high numbers that are stubborn, some congestion, maybe arthritic pain, and napping quite a bit. We know he has bone spurs from his arthritis based on X-rays a year ago.
 
I see the labs but not the ranges. Max had arthritis in his back but my vet wouldn’t give him anything for it. :( It didn’t effect his bg. I wonder if the congestion is an infection?
 
His labs were great. I’d get new ones since it’s been at least 6 months and he’s 14. Tgey will show if possible infection. Have you found a new vet to try? It’s so hard without Covid and really hard now.
 
We went back to an old vet in June when Cosmo was in his megacolon episode :eek: She is great. She moved clinics a few years ago and now opened her own nearby. We were so happy to find her again!

Ill post the new labs once the results are in :)
 
I hope the vet appointment goes well and you can find out if he has an infection. My cats get the sniffles and I give them 1/4 of a tablet of Zyrtec. It can be given twice a day per my vet.
