Yesterday. Caber Yr 2. Day 74

Ollie and Elmo (@Beth 73) partied up a storm last night. Elmo rode the roller coaster and Ollie just wanted to stay with the octopus.

I had to bring out the syrup because she was just being stubborn and refused to come up. Bean kept dosing off, @ +9 I tucked her behind my knees so I could feel her move, on the couch and I dozed off.

She earned reducie. I learned not to reduce to much or we have to go past where we were to get her back down. I have got to get more hc food. Just gotta find some time.

This morning PJ goes to urgent care. She was out in the living room with us, showing her belly all night.

Glad to see things went well after the "big guns" came out! Congrats on the reducie, Ollie, but not the timing! :p
Sending vines to PJ, I hope it's not serious. Good luck! :bighug:

Good morning, Paula and Ollie :bighug: Was glad for your company last night /this AM....both of them only up 40-50 points ...mercy  Sending prayers and vines for PJ and hope it’s an easy fix. Hope you can get a nap in today, Paula...Lord knows we’ve earned it ;):bighug:

It's always good to have company, after all a solo one does not make it a party.

PJ is under bed, right smack in the middle, it's going to be a job getting her out. The bed is close to the floor, hubby won't be home to help. Trying to coax with raw treats. Don't want to give gabapentin in case they need to give something. Yet I know she would come out and sit in hall.

No nap at least until dinner time. Have mandatory meeting at work at +7.5. This is one I really want to go to.

PJ does not have a break. Just a sprain. Keep the gabapentin going, can double dose of I want. I asked about giving the 12.5 mg every 8 hrs instead Dr said that might be better. So I will start that this afternoon.

Test Ollie as soon as I get home. Hubby said he fed her when he got home. Have her some gravy.

Prayers for Dad:bighug: Prayers for Ollie staying safe . Prayers for PJ and yippee yahoo for good doctor report :) Oh, and prayers for YOU , Paula ❤️

I'm glad that PJ has only a sprain. Did the doctor wrap the leg? Sending some healing vines!
Ollie....ok enough with the shark hunts! Move it on closer to the shore please!
I hope it's nothing serious with your Dad, Paula.

Olive, enough please! Time to come UP! Yes, this is still last night’s dose talking. Something to think about, maybe try the 0.5 unit reduction if you see numbers in the 30’s, or at least a BCS the following cycle.

This is for your day today. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Wendy, Paula and I were talking during our pj party last night ab you mentioning giving potato flakes to help them when low . Could you give some details on how to do that , please ? @Wendy&Neko

I’ve never talked about giving potato flakes. But I have talked about alternatives to wheat which is in the majority of HC foods. Some have potato starch or potato flour as their carb boost. That’s what I used as Neko didn’t handle wheat well. Weruva and First Mate are examples. I know of at least one member who made her own gravy with potato or rice flour. She was feeding raw and didn’t want to use canned.

Ahhhh, that's it ! My fogged brain remembered incorrectly  Thank you, Wendy :)

Oh Ollie! Whatever are you doing? Be good for your mama and stop scaring everyone!

Leave that octopus alone...

I hope things go ok with your dad Paula....

It wasn't Wendy, I'm not sure who it was. Maybe a search for potato flakes might work. It's probably going back years, I think I tried it with Smokey.

My thinking is if she does get to low, I will reduce again. She has proved the .5 reductions are to much and we end up going past where we were to get back down again. Hoping I can ease her down, even if it's only 24 hrs on a dose.

Since this work meeting was mandatory and it was one I wanted to be at (but they changed the topic, I was pissed). Ollie was staying lime even with hc/gravy every 30-60 minutes since +3. Even her breakfast was high end lc and hc food. I felt it was safe for me to go. Hubby was instructed to give gravy every 30 minutes while I was gone and he did.

As far as dad. He is refusing his meds now. He says he isn't getting better and they are not helping him. He only has breakfast now. Doesn't leave his room. I noticed quite a decline over last couple of weeks. The facility wanted to know what I think of hospice coming in so he has some extra care and attention they can't provide.

I have no problem with it, just need to check with his long term care insurance to find out if they cover it and what do I need to do. Can he stay where he is or does he have to go to hospice facility.
