Sorry for coming on so late---Moonie was feeling horribly last night after her 3rd enema--It is so sad to see her feeling that badly, and she hardly could eat anything except temptations! It was so upsetting!Walking was difficult too!!
AND NO POO!!! ARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!
Today she was hungry & ate 2 helpings of chicken, 10 licks of ff chick. and about 10 temptations!!!
Then Barb pointed out to me that the Cyproheptadine side effects are constipation & lethargy-- she is getting it 2X per day!! So today I spoke with vet & we are discontinuing the cypro & Moonie will be taking prednisolone as of tomorrow..She may need another enema, I pray not , later in the week..It is moving though--Thank Heavens!!
The pred will increase her appetite, hopefully weight gain, reduce inflammation & help the tumor...
So she is still getting lactulose & pepcid...Paws & fingers crossed that this is help her QOL and give her some peace..She was very happy & peaceful today--Slept on the bed all day cat_pet_icon

SwEAR I am throwing a big Party for Moonie when that Poo Comes OUT!!!!

Hope tonite is a good night too--DCIN Paid for the vet & the meds--Thanks so very much, I Love you dear family--Couldnt make it through this whole period of our lives without you--
Massive Hugs & Love from us!! PRAY FOR POO!!

Haven't stopped the poo vines over here...c'mon, Moonie...you can do it!!!! I think it's at the top of EVERYONE'S Christmas list now!!!

I'm all in for the party when it happens! Glad you guys are getting rid of the cypro. Let's get that appy back in high gear to help get things moving! Sending prayers and poo vines! ((hugs)) to you and Brad and **scritches** to Moonie!

LOL...all I can say is thank goodness we all know how wonderful a poo can be!! Can you just imagine someone reading these posts and seeing those pictures who is not as excited about poo as we are!!

I hope the pred helps Moonie. Ralphie was on pred for about two years. I finally weaned him off. It did increase is appy too.

Sending poo vines tonight!!!

oh, btw...Roni, read you pm's. Thanks!!

(((Roni & Moonie))) sending big poo vines and prayers that tonight is the night. Glad Barb caught that the one med causes constipation. Lots of hugs and scritches to Moonie.

Poor Moonie must be so sore! She might be holding it in on purpose because it hurts too. I sometimes put a tiny bit of vaseline on the edge of Racci's anus with just the edge getting some on the inside and it helps her to push and soothes her. You just don't want to use a more than a tiny bit. Just thought I'd mention it.

I hope she poos soon.

Hugs to you all,
Melanie & Racci

So sorry that Moonie is having the constipation. I can imagine how bad that will feel. Sorry, I missed your pervious condo. Is the constipation caused by a blockage?
Sending major poopoo vines to Moonie.

Come on Moonie, it will feel sooooooo good to get rid of all the poo. Sending more vines and soothing snow flakes for sweet Moonie.

Yes, major Ll party when the prezzies arrive!

Hoping for some movement for Miss Moonie....
It's a vicious cycle with this constipation and dehydration. I am so glad she ate something yesterday.
I wish the vet could suggest something more than enemas. They thought that the enemas would work but obviously they have NOT worked as they had planned...
isn't there anything else they can do?
I know that YOU would do whatever you can to help her....
Dunno but I keep thinking oils might help if she is eating at least...add some kind of oil....tuna oil or olive oil...
Anyway, thinking of you all and sending continued prayers and healing vines for Moonie Girl....love to you three and hugs.... :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Roni, I'm wondering, did the vet decide that anesthesia would be dangerous for Moonie, or something? I'm wondering why he hasn't gone in and physically broken the blockage up?

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci
