Yesterday's fiasco

She's still running high. Well I only say that because the Libre, again (it's always the Libre) is reading higher than the meter. It's always read her lower,, except for a few days ago right before it died on us. It worried me as I was messing with it yesterday putting something over it and wrapping her that I was going to mess it up. It is wrapped pretty tight so there's that that is different. I just don't know anymore. Her overnight readings are high, possibly still from the stress of yesterday. She did NOT sleep with me, she was still mad and I don't blame her.

Then I thought, maybe the depot from the 1.25 is depleted now and that why she's higher.

I was able to give the S Boulardii in food. She doesn't seem to notice and I hope it helps her soon with her sore booty. I'll try to remember to give it twice a day, at least.

I welcome any thought on her higher than usual readings/wonkiness of the Libre readings.

I can't speak to the comparison between the Libre and meter, because I've rarely had the opportunity to make one. (I keep hoping that I'll be able to get Gen to accept the occasional ear poke at some point, but I keep having more urgent things to deal with that he finds unpleasant, and I'm trying not to upset him more than necessary, you know?)

I hope the probiotic helps her poor booty. Gen hasn't shown any reluctance about eating it - I think it must really be tasteless - but he also hasn't pooped since I started giving it to him. Which is weird. (I don't think it's because of the probiotic, since he had a no-poop day a couple days earlier as well, but I don't quite know what's going on there.)

I'm still getting the hang of the depot, but it would make sense to me if her numbers yesterday were higher due to a combination of stress and higher carbs? From her AMPS, it looks like she could be coming back down?

Also, I hope your hands are okay; those were some nasty scratches. I hope she cools off soon - it's all very hard, but you really have just been trying to help her. ❤️

Your Libre and Contour numbers seem within the range of what I'd expect to see (compared to each other). A few possibilities for those blues:
  1. Stress from Libre application, as you said.
  2. A little bounce, maybe from a lower value while the Libre was off.
  3. The reduction to 1 may not end up sticking.
It does seem like she's dropping nicely today so I am leaning towards 1 and 2, but only time will tell.
 
The two are reading fairly close, I'm just not used to seeing the Libre higher than the Contour so it's a bit off-putting. Because she is coming down now, finally, I'm thinking the high carb food yesterday and then the stress of last night kept her higher. She doesn't seem to bounce from low numbers much anymore. It seems like that's her comfort zone these days.

I was thinking the same thing earlier about the reduction and was hoping I was wrong. I did find out that she seems to be very carb sensitive. Good to know for any future events if she decides to go that route.
I do have a lot to do today. This evening is the only time we can get together for our Christmas. My son and his family are driving an hour and a half to get here for just a little while. Hopefully they'll make it here by 6pm, to have dinner and exchange gifts. Then I have to be back home by 9 for shot time. (It's at my sister's house 30 mins away in the country) I'll only give myself 30 mins to be late for shot time because I don't want it to be too late.
 
Only thing I can comment on, is perhaps take occasional hand meter readings as you can here and there. Specifically when your libre is running high. So you'll know for sure if she's keeping that reduction well.
But Monster is being awesome about this and I doubt she'll give you trouble about it.

I always check her with the meter for PS. And a few more, I just don't trust the Libre yet, lol. Other than the overnight #s, if there isn't an "L" after the number, then it's a meter reading. And I'll usually put a "C" next to those for Contour.

She's surfing smooth right now. She just had her snack, a little late, but she's 87 on the Libre and trending steady. I think I can go to the store now.

How are you liking the libre so far?!

I was looking at your sheet and Monster and Bear seem to be on a similar journey, in terms of diagnosis date etc.

I ordered one for him but it hasn’t come yet.. hoping to help with the blind spots in our pm cycles as we shoot late due to work schedule. In the beginning he was so high it wasn’t an issue, but i think we may have found his sweet spot in terms of dosage, so the need to monitor more is definitely there now 🥹

I loke having it as a safety net, but I've personally had a lot of headaches from it. This time was my 3rd time applying one and I think I may have got it on there better because she didn't move. But in 15 days I have gone through 5 of them. 2 didn't stick when I applied them, and 2 others only lasted 5 days and they said to replace them. Definitely join the FB group for application instructions. I don't have the link right now.
It can be a headache but if you can endure, it can also be a helpful tool.

ahh yeah ive heard that about them 🥹 hopefully it gets easier for yous!!
id be happy just get a few days of pm cycle data at best 😆 i appreciate that it works long term for a lot of folks, but i dont feel we will be one of them lol
 
With that 59 today, I wouldn't worry about the reduction holding. Sometimes they just need a bit of time to settle into a new dose, perhaps to do with the depot?

Have you ever tried her with all meat baby food? Instead of Churus? Would be nice to find a treat you can put probiotic into.

Thanks! Good to know about her dose.

No I haven't ever tired baby food. As of now I've mixed it with her food and she didn't seem to notice it. But as a treat, I may try some. She is extremely food motivated.

Just make sure it doesn't have lemon in it. I accidentally picked up a few like that. I guess they add it in for flavoring, but lemon is suposed to be bad for cats. Or so they say.
 
She's got me confused agian today. The thing with the Libre reading higher than meter test is really throwing me for a loop. And it seems like her numbers are staying higher too. She was all nice and comfy in the greens and now it's mixed with a ton of blue too. I felt like we were really getting somewhere with her staying so low, but now it feels like I have messed up something. The dose still takes her down but it's not keeping her there anymore.

Besides, it's the new (running higher) libre that's giving the low 100's. The Contour seems to still be ok and lower. To me, using the Contour results, she still looks really good to me

I was getting used to those lower numbers. Her PS were staying pretty low and she stayed lower throughout most of her cycle, but now even the Contour readings are higher.
 
Well it looked like she only had 1hypo number with the 1.25. So you could always raise her back and see. I mean, they are small adjustments, moving the 0.25u around. The option's definitely there for you if you should choose to go back. ☺️
