Sid had a very nice surf in the blue last night for a few hours but he must have dropped sometime between +5 and +12 to account for that ugly black this morning. Today he has been all yellow. He has a spot on his ear that just gushes blood when pricked even just a little. Has anyone every had a cat develop a hematoma on their ear from all the poking?

i always apply pressure after testing for 20 seconds or so...

but when we first started, binks got a big bruise on his lil swiveler...and it bled like a champ...

(I posted a pic in the wrong condo for Sid)

I'll look for that photo!

I always get a cold wet cloth and hold it on the ear afterward too. I've been poking Sid so much that his poor little ear is bruised but I've been putting neosporin on it at night. He has been such a good boy about the testing. Have I mentioned how much he hates getting the shot though? It must really sting because he cries and tries to run away but I give him the shot at the same time as the baby food so he does have a distraction and it makes things a little easier.
