Well, no green for Sarge last night. After sliding into blue in the afternoon and having a blue PMPS he bounced from 167 at +3 to 329 at +5. I wish I knew why. He was still very playfull all night and we even caught him watching tv. It was too cute. Happy Tuesday all and best wishes for green

What are you thinking about dose, Alison? I'm wondering if he needs a little more insulin if he only got down to the 120's yesterday when he cleared the latest bounce. At the same time, I keep looking at 12/6 and that 41 after you reduced from 2.5u. We're in the ballpark on the dose.

Do you have any chunks of time off coming up? ie, i'm off for Christmas break - anything like that?

Well, I was thinking about bumping him up a hair tonight, not even the full .25U becasue it seems like we are really close. However, I got home and grabbed a +10.5 spot test and we are at 104. Not too shabby and could mean when went green today. I do have some vacation coming up but I don't really know how things will play out. I think I am going to get up at 6am for his TFS so that we can TFS again before going out for dinner in the evenings. I will also grab spot checks whenever I can. We will be visiting family and will be all over the place during the day. Homebase will be a house that Sarge knows and likes. So, that helps with stress. He will have an 11 hour car ride Saturday so I am thinking I won't give him his whole dose before we leave in case he doesn't eat much on the way.

and look at that 104. hahahhaha they always know when you're considering a dose increase, don't they? I think i'd wait for an increase til you have a little more certainty about his nadirs, at this point. Just in case he's sneaking some greens in there that we aren't seeing.

11 hours is a LLLOOOONNNNNGGGG ride in the car! I hope he travels well.

Yup. I think they know. Hey, whatever works! I'll keep an eye on him a while longer on this dose. (Whispering....) Actually, he is 1 point from green at +3 right now. I think the calipers to standardize the dose makes a difference for him.

11 hours is a really long drive for man and beast! Sarge and Lobster are well traveled and have made the trip several times. However, it will be Diesel's first road trip. I am going to put him in a big crate with Lobster so they can be travel buddies. I tried this out their last vet visit and they both did great. I usually pull the crates out a head of time so they can get acquainted with them and Sarge has spent the last week sleeping in his by choice! He likes it.
