Glad the vet is letting you pick up the shot and give it yourself. I hope it clears up the infection. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Did they do a sensitivity as well (I hope)?

Sometimes the methicillin-resistant staphylococcus (is it pseudintermedius?) are multi-drug resistant as well, so doing a sensitivity is very important.

I had a rescue dog who had multi-drug-resistant MRSP that had been misdiagnosed as allergies. The veterinary dermatologist chose a drug based on the sensitivity results; it was remarkable what a difference the right medication made.

I don't know about a sensitivity and none was mentioned. The only thing that we discussed was that the Convenia would be the appropriate antibiotic for this strain and that Clavamox was not. The vet did whatever due diligence was necessary (?) to recommend Convenia. I asked specifically about its effectiveness in this case and she assured me that this was the right medication.

Blue is actually doing quite well. It really helped that they shaved and deep-cleaned the callus. I'm using the gel in addition to the Convenia, which I gave him this afternoon with his late PM snack.

That's all I know.
