Hi. My cat Boötes (3.6 years old, male, indoor only) was recently diagnosed a week ago. Tomorrow after clearing the panel we should be starting Senvelgo.

After reading some of the issues, I've been trying to figure out better ways of keeping track on health indicators. The vet suggested that urine in the litterbox could be a sufficient sample to check for ketones. Basically smash the strip in the wettest part of the litter clump. I am suspicious of consistent accuracy of this method. Obviously it would be better to get a clean urine sample but that is a bit difficult as my boy is very very nervous/anxious. Would mixing some of the litter with water making it more liquidy decrease it's readings too significantly? What are some other none invasive methods of collecting urine?

I do plan on attempting to take blood readings for both glucose and ketones via the ear or paw, but we need time to acclimate. Currently I am trying hydrophobic litter, but both my cats just relax on it like it's sand on the beach.
