Good morning, everyone,

Rusty had a good night, ate all of his nighttime food, and we had a good morning routine. Schmooze is yet to come, since Rusty is asleep in his little bed by the radiator. It will be warmer this week, but we are not expecting a major melt, just a deterioration of the lovely winter landscape. Rusty may enjoy a look-around outside later today.

Got to do some more baking today. The orange shortbread came out great. This week I have to make another batch, two batches of Linzeraugen (thumbprint buttercookies with jam filling), gingersnaps, and--my favorite Xmas cookie--Cinnanuts ( Tobey will help me with these). That should get us through Xmas and New Year's Eve.

All this talk of baking is making me hungry. At my house, though, that usually signals a slice of peanut butter toast with a cup of hot cocoa. Ohhhh, I think so.

You are looking good today Rusty, such a nice blue. Off to the lagoon in a few?

I bet your house smells great, with all that baking going on. Love the cookies with the jam in the middle. My DMIL made those every year. YUM! OOOOOOOOO too on the cinnanuts. Elsa hopes you will save one or two for her.

Not a bad start totthe day, but you do need to go down and keep an eye on Mr. T. Tess is definitely not on duty today.

Nothing smells better than a house w/ cookies baking! I need to bake more Yulekake and cookies too! Cranberry drops, crescents, spritz and Melissa's cheese babies!

Looks like almost everyone is is baking mode!

Rusty is going in the wrong direction and heading further up on shore. He may be in a bounce from what may have been lower greens last night. He's spending his day napping. I don't think his current dose is optimal, but I also don't see any reason to change things.

Off now to do some cookies: gingersnaps.

I've done the cheese babies twice and chocolate crinkles, thumbprints, chex mix, cranberry cookies and now my stollen. I may try pfeffernusse this year. I have never tried it, but it is one of DH's favorites that his grandma used to make.

Rusty is heading back down. Maybe the LagoonMeister will be on duty later. The gingersnaps are about ready to go into the oven. That's all I managed to do today. I was assembling some catnip socks for the kitties in the Humane Society shelter and doing lots of house chores.

Looks like a whole lot of blue going around today. Could be worse, maybe green tomorrow.

Now I really have to get baking. I've only made chocolate chip cookies with almond flour so far. I have a gingerbread with white chocolate chip recipe I sometimes make. Hmmm.

Mmmmm. I love gingersnaps. I'll trade you some turtles or English toffee for a couple! Reading condos this time of year makes me hungry! I wish I had time to bake, but the candy takes up all of my "free" time.
